Does Yer Head Shrink?
Hi,
Last year I got a gift certificate for Christmas to Andretti Power Sports (one of Mario's sons owns this business) so I could buy a new open face helmet. I have been waiting and waiting because I figured my head would shrink and then my helmet wouldn't fit. My dad says that my head won't shrink, but sometimes he "talks out his ass" so to speak. Am I stupid to wait to buy the helmet?

I hope so cause I got a helmet I have not fit in for some time. I had to buy the biggest helmet there was and that was tight. I'm new to this board So Hi. I have not ridden my scoot for 9months I wonder after losing 90 lbs so far if it will feel different. I'm thinking of taking another safety course before rideing full time any thoughts? Scott
I still have not bought the helmet, but soon, probably. But first I have to find a man to ride with since I can't afford to buy a motorcycle at this time. When I finally am able to purchase a motorcycle, I will definately take the safety course again (it's free in PA). I think that maybe it will feel different--certainly less wind drag--and loosing weight has definately affected my "center of balance".

Actually the helmets interior degrades over time, especially if you use it. I bought a 2XL helmet and ave found that it is now very loose, I paid about $250 for it, so tha kinda sucks. The next one I got was also a 2Xl, but it fit fine. Same brand Shoei. Your sweat will break down the foam, and it wears away with time. You should actually replace your helmet every 5 years. You should also try different manufactures as sizes and fits are different for each manufacturer
