Anyone still riding?
Hey, you're looking good, Ken!
I'm wondering how much difference it will be for me riding my bike when I get back on it. I put it away just before surgery. I haven't lost as much, but hope to eventually lose 100 to 115 pounds. Regardless, it will definitely have to be more enjoyable!
What model Honda do you ride? I've got a Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad, but am thinking I would like a sport tourer as a second street bike.
Happy Holidays!
Matt
That is one bike I still have to try someday! I'm just a bit intimidated to try to get on one. I'm afraid of having a hard time getting my leg up over it because of an injury a couple years ago (You face the seat and basically step straight over it, correct?)
But, I am currently thinking of joing our local GW chapter just to go on some rides with them this next year. They are pretty active and usually some or most of the group is riding somewhere each weekend during good weather.
Happy Holidays,
Matt
I've been riding every weekend when it wasn't cold and wet enough to have ice on the road...and I even came across a few patches even then.
Of course this has been an uncharacteristically warm winter. Guess there's something to that global warming stuff!
I bundle up with a turtle fur balaclava under the full face helmet, and full thermal long johns under my jeans and riding jacket. So far it's been plenty, though I could use some warmer gloves.
I'm just running around on a dinky 50cc scooter right now, but just put down a deposit on a used 250cc Honda Elite that I hope to pick up this next weekend. An intermediate step on the road to a Honda SilverWing or a Suzuki Burgman, I'm sure. (I'm partial to step-thru scooters, my knees make it easier for me to step on and sit than kicking up my leg to straddle a motorbike. Plus there's room for carrying a bag or two of groceries and other stuff under the seat.)
