Vtx1800Retro Honda rider

new to forum and have surgery scheduled for May 1st...anyone here know how long i wont be able to ride for?

My surgeon told me no heavy lifting for 6 weeks after surgery, so I didn't ride for 6 weeks, just because I was afraid of ripping something pulling the bike up, or trying to pick it up if I laid it down. That would be my suggestion. Good luck, steve

Hi Richard, Welcome to the board. I rode around 4 weeks after but it was a short ride and I have a much smaller bike. Too bad your not closer I would be happy to take your VTX out for you. LOL I want one really bad!! Jen L.

I would say you should be back in the saddle by June 1st... But you will know when the time is right. It took me 2 months but I had to wait for a dry day... I am still waiting for more dry weather... Angel J

I will be 4 months out tomorrow and I still haven't gone for a ride. I've got a Yamaha 650 VStar Classic and it was heavy for me pre-op, so I've been too scared and busy to take it out post-op. Hi Jennifer I used to have a V Star 650! Those are great bikes! Mine was purple. I sold it and got a new Road Star... Gotta keep my legs strong for that one. 1700cc of pure pleasure! Hugs Angel J

Hey there I have a Honda 750 Shadow and it is pretty heavy. My surgeon had me wait 6 weeks and then I couldn't wait to gooooooooooooo... Just took a few short rides at first.
