I was just gonna go for a "spin" in the "hood" but before I knew it... poof I was GONE!! Go back to older posts on this forum you will see my first "post op" gleeful post of riding... Best of luck and lots of prayers on your surgery ... You will be much happier on the Losers side...

Well thanks for responding Goodyear, U never said your real name, But that's okay Wednesday night we will start riding around together. Staying close to the house. I am sure as anytime hubby and do things like this together it brings us closer. I look forward to that! He has put up with so much whinning from me he surely deserves this if this is what he wants. Next month we plan on riding to Austin, Some kind of rally, forgot to ask him what it was for. But I know other firefighters will be with us, He is very excited, He says I am so glad my wife is going with me, isn't that sweet! Well I will keep u all updated! Thanks, Bren

Robert; I would plan to be off your bike for 4-6 weeks. The muscles you use for balance and to hold your bike up at stop lights and such will be tender and you don't want to cause a hernia. Plus, on your bike, you never know when you're going to have to make a quick move and you don't want to not be able to because you're still tender. Blessings, Jennifer 253 / 173 / 137

Hey all, Well it is Monday and Thursday is the day. Went to surgeons office on friday and found I had lost 7 more pounds with out even really trying. Been a rainy week and not much chance to ride hope it clears before Wednesday Night. Question how long did your doctor give you before you could ride again? Mine talked about driving and said 7-10 days. I forgot to ask about bike. (How could I have forgotten?) kicking self in butt. Thanks for the support and look forward to hearing from you.

Bren: I had to chime in here with the other girls. They Ride their bikes and I am just learning to ride ours. But I am a daily rider behind my DH. We have had our bike 2 years and before surgery I wanted to ride so bad. I had an episode of fear, palpations, hyperventilation just trying to get my almost 300 # self on there last year. It ended up me in crying, and ashamed and taking it out on him. He rode in the Rot Rally here, last year and I was in the truck..... a very unhappy person, and not wanting to even be at the rally, because of my weight and my unhappiness even though I was happy to be there. I just longed for more.... About 3 months ago, he asked me to ride, and I was terrified of the vision in my head of the 300# day. But I said okay, and put my jeans and boots on and went out side, took a deep breath and said a prayer and hopped my shrinking butt on the back... Well let me tell you, 103 pounds later, you can't get my butt of the back of that bike, and I have the fever really bad to have my own.....It is the best thing I did that day. The girls are right you have to become one with your DH. Lean with him, and roll with the flow. We ride almost every evening and in fact just got home from a ride now. It has brought us so much closer... I wish you the best of luck...and Bren.. it is so fun to buy clothes now, and biker attire, and oh.... I am loving it...and I k now you will too....

Thanks Angel and Jennifer! I am starting to get excited about it, and God knows I could use something like this to take my mind off of other things..... We are going on our first ride soon and then I think it's next month, we will be going on a ride with other firefighters to somewhere close to Austin, something small.... Thanks again! Bren

Bren; Angel said it all - RELAX! I spent 3 years riding on the back on my husband's bike before I got my own. Believe me, as you continue to lose, you'll enjoy it even more! Blessings, Jennifer 253 / 175 / 137

Hi Bren! Congrats on the 40 lbs loss and the sissy bar.. my advice is.. r-e-l-a-x.. you are gonna love it.. stay in alignment with hubby .. picture your spine in line with his spine at all times... and then ENJOY the freedom you will feel... the wind in your face.. the open road smells of trees flowers berries dead skunks.. and the bro hood of the bike... let us know when you take your first spin.. who knows you may end up getting your own bike!! Can u say 650 V Star!??
