Don't let them intimidate you Kenny! They put their chaps on the same way we do - one leg at a time.
I've had a few make comments to about my riding a rice burner. I could care less and have even asked a few if they would rather me pass them by if I ever see them broken down by the side of the road.
Those folks are pretty rare. Most of the bikers I meet are a pretty good bunch and really don't care much about what you ride but rather how you ride. Those are the ones I want to ride with.
Keep your knees to the breeze . . .

Bob -
I bet you were getting the best gas mileage of the bunch, though!
What a way to keep your nerve!

You should be over it by then. I'd call the doctor by tomorrow if you are feeling worse though. He/she may put you on a course of antibiotics to speed it up for you. If it's really is a cold though it's viral and antibiotics will only help prevent opportunistic infections but wouldn't be a bad idea since you want to recover as quick as possible before your surgery and be infection free. If it is viral, he/she may decide to put you on amantadine or Tamiflu to cut the duration and symptoms of your cold. No matter what though, you should be well over it by May 10th. I wouldn't worry about it. :-)

Welcome to the group. I can't wait to get on mine. It is raining today and I have finally gotten the fenders back from paint so I can reassemble. Either tonight or tomorrow after work the bike should be together and looking for the day it is not raining.
I am currently the fat biker but not for long!!!!

Kenny,
Don't worry the first ride that I went on I rode with a Harley and a Yamaha street/dirt bike. I was on a Yamaha scooter. Want to talk about being out of place. Try pulling into a lot with hundreds of bikes on a little scooter. LOL

Thanks Julie! Good luck to you too - we're at the same phase right now. I see you are only on the liquid diet for 2 days. My doctor makes all his patients go on it for 2 weeks so I'm doing that now. I started Saturday and have already lost 10 lbs since I weighed myself last Friday evening but I'm sure that is all fluid loss. I do notice the difference in the way my clothes fit already though so that is a nice feeling. I can't wait till the surgery is over and start to lose some real weight. :-D
