Angel; Congrats! I'm hoping to get mine out for inspection this week, but right now the weather forecast is for rain all week, so maybe not... Glad you had a great ride. Blessings, Jennifer 253 / 187 / ???

Tina; Congrats on your first post-op ride. I'll finally be saddling up for mine sometime this week (depending on the weather). Which Vulcan do you have? My hubby's got a 2001 1500Fi. I think he's coming up about 10K miles on his. Blessings, Jennifer 253 / 187 / ???

Congratulations Tina, there's nothing like getting back in the saddle. 25 miles is not bad for a first ride of the season. Here's hoping you get more good weather. Steve

Well we finally had a break in the wet weather and I had time to ride. I took my Vulcan out yesterday for a short ride. It was my first ride since surgery. I'm down 36 lbs and what a difference! I could actually see easily around myself in my mirrors. My jacket fit great, plus I put all the armour back into it (I had to take it all out pre-op so it would fit properly). I only went for about a 25 mile ride and had return home because my rear hurt. It felt great to be back in the wind.

Way to go Angel, ride when you can. I took mine out for a little spin and a trip to a bike show this weekend. I had a blast. Any day I ride is a good day. Steve

Hi Matt, At least you are ready to roll when the time is right. Glad you had fun chasing your son around in the yard. Life is all about the good times. And that sounds like good times! Hugs Angel J

Good for you Angel J! I took mine off the jack and fired it up yesterday but didn't go out on the road. It was still pretty chilly here and my thermostat is not what it used to be (my hands and feet get so cold!!). I did chase my son around the yard a little on our dirt bikes, so that felt good. Hopefully this week it will get into upper 50's. Ride on!

Sounds like a decent deal. The NADA online guide shows that to be the high retail - so it should look like it came off the showroom floor - and it probably does with that few of miles. Although I doubt a problem, I would check the inside of the tank with a little mirror to make sure no rust problem has started if he has been storing it over the winters with only a partially full tank. I would also siphon the gas and replace it with fresh. I use stabilizer in my tank over the winter, but still replace it sometimes. A question I would ask is would he have it serviced while in his name to get any warranty work done that may be applicable. Also, can the warranty be transferred to you? It might be worth it. If you can't get it serviced right away, I would warm it up and change the oil - unless it has been stored in a heated area. After it has been stored over the winter it can turn acidic from condensation. Good luck! Matt

Kenny; My 04 VStar doesn't have a ton of miles on it because of traveling a lot and prepping for surgery last year. If it started up no problem, I would just schedule the 500 mile service for the day (or day after) you pick it up. Once you have that done...ride on! Blessings, Jennifer 253 / 187 / ???
