HI Steve! Good for you... ! I bet you had fun. It best be dry tommorow I really need to go for a ride. I tried on my leather Jacket today and it FIT ! I was actually able to zip it up with wiggle room to spare. So I went and started up the bikes and sat on them while I was wearing my jacket. It even looked like it was gonna dry up today but then we had a cloud burst... it better be DRY tommorrow! I need a ride. What kind of bike do you have? Angel J

Angel, It was cold and windy today, but I rode anyway. I enjoy it too much to let a little frostbite dampen my spirits. Good luck tomorrow. Steve

Donna, I have always enjoyed living in the south; but since I started riding, and I heard people have to put their bikes up for the winter, I will never move up north. Steve

Angel, Riding is definitely a stress buster, I love the "getting away from it all feeling you get when you ride". I love to ride and just feel the wind in my face, listen to the sound of my motor, and feel the power of the bike, it makes you forget about everything else. You don't have to worry about phone calls, people bothering you, or dealing with an idiot boss. It's like a mini vacation. Steve

I find a ride on the Iron Pony is better than any other kind of Therapy... anyone care to share their thoughts on why you ride? It is my stress buster... stress just blows away with the twist of a throttle ! And the mind clears and I never come home without a smile on my face! Angel J

Hi Donna! I had a V Star and now have a 1700 Roadstar with only 550 miles on it. I am CHOMPING and STOMPING for a DRY day so I can go for first post op ride.... I live in rain country Thanks for your post, I miss the smells of the open road. Stuff you dont get when in a car. My hubby is afraid when I do take off for a neighbor hood spin that I too will be gone for hours. And I probably will Just need to ride my iron pony... its good therapy dont ya think !? Angel J

Topic: good day in New England
Just had to post, Yestarday was in the 50's and I took the bikes out. Hubby and I each have bikes and when I went to start mine it wouldn't start. I was bummed out. DH was at work, so I jumped on his 1100 and took off. What a great time. Usually I have been afraid to ride his. It's not so much the power but he has a yamaha vstar and it is a dam wide and heavy bike. Now getting the chance to ride in January here in Massachusetts is extreamlly rare, but what a great day. As I was riding through the back roads I keep coming across house's with the fireplaces going- smelling that fire smell it was awesome. I had planned only to go around the block and ended up with a 2.5 hour ride. What a good reason not to go to work. So I came home put bike's back to bed and am dreaming of Spring. I am very jelouse of those of you who can ride all year. a northern friend donna

Topic: RE: Nervous to Ride Post-op
I ride a 2003 Goldwing and stayed off it for six weeks post-op. I started with short rides no more than 15 miles and at 12 weeks out did a 10 day ride from Illinois to Wyoming and Colorado - about 3800 miles. No problems except a sore butt. If you had strength issues with the bike before surgery I would work on that first. My doctor told me to wait 8 weeks before doing weight strengthening exercises Good luck and great riding. Rich
