Hello from New England! It's been pretty mild so far this winter, but I know what is inevitable. Spent a couple of weeks in Florida over Thanksgiving and was very envious of all the people I saw riding their bikes. I plan on moving south in a year or two, but it sure seems a long way off. I put my bike away the end of September because I was scheduled for my surgery on 9/25. It's been 3 months and I'm down 50lbs, have about 25 more to go and I'll be very content. To keep myself busy, I working with Rolling Thunder MA Chapter 1 on putting together a bike run for early June or July.

That is one bike I still have to try someday! I'm just a bit intimidated to try to get on one. I'm afraid of having a hard time getting my leg up over it because of an injury a couple years ago (You face the seat and basically step straight over it, correct?)
But, I am currently thinking of joing our local GW chapter just to go on some rides with them this next year. They are pretty active and usually some or most of the group is riding somewhere each weekend during good weather.

Hey, you're looking good, Ken!
I'm wondering how much difference it will be for me riding my bike when I get back on it. I put it away just before surgery. I haven't lost as much, but hope to eventually lose 100 to 115 pounds. Regardless, it will definitely have to be more enjoyable!
What model Honda do you ride? I've got a Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad, but am thinking I would like a sport tourer as a second street bike.

Welcome Trish!
The board has been pretty quiet lately. I think most everyone here is hibernating with their bikes!
I had my surgery in November and am really looking forward to riding in the spring! I didn't put many miles on last year because I wasn't feeling up to it and the heat really bothered me.
I know it is a ways away, but good luck on your lap band surgery! I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

It is now the end of December and the Ice on the roads mock my silver BMW 1200clc. I am feeling the winter blues. I am scheduled to have my lap band done Feb 9th and that is keeping some of the blues away. I am new to the board and can't wait to be a post op patient. I can't wait to be able to sit on my bike and not have my stomache get in the way of the gas tank. Whoopee. I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Trish and I live in Central Washington. I hope that I get to know you all better once the board gets back in action.

It's December in South Florida...Hurricane season is over and the real nice riding season is just begining....nice cool days where I can wear all my new xl jackets....instead of the tight 3x ones 
Noticed my bike goes a lot faster with 130 lbs off my butt LOL
