It was great, every thing I hoped it would be and so much more. One word of warning though, a hangover and a city full of Harley bikes, do not mix well. Ouch.

Is anyone going to biketoberfest in Daytona Florida this weekend? I'm going to be there and would love to meet anyone else who's going. Steve

Hey Kim! Well, maybe this forum will get hopping after all. Especially if you tell us all about your Daytona trip......that should be a hoot! I envy you! Well, maybe next year.......... Just had my RNY done on 9/26 and am coming along pretty well. It's been raining here in NE, so I'm not missing riding as it's been pretty cool. I'm a member of Rolling Thunder Massachusetts Chapter 1, and we're planning a "Blues & Boos" night next weekend. Should be a lot of fun, we're expecting members from Maine & N.H. too. Write back and tell us all about your exciting trip!

Sorry that it took me a bit to respond. I'm up to my eyes in homework and it is all due by Sunday. Anyway, I went through the basic rider course a few years ago. I was in the class with lots of people that had never ridden before. I had been riding for years, but I learned a lot from the class. My mother had never been anything but a passenger either. After the class, people thought that she had actually been riding for years. The only pointers that I would offer is listen carefully to the instructors, go in with an open mind, and just try to relax. The instructors do wonderfully at teaching everything. You'll start off really slow and easy. If you can look at this as being a fun learning experience, you'll do fine. Just drop a message in here to let us know how you did.

Hey Jeri......I know...I'm quilty. I've been negelecting this sight. It's the same old excuse of being so busy lately. I promise I'll try to get back on. I'm getting ready now for biketoberfest in daytona. I can't wait. I haven't even been riding my bike lately. I need to get some riding time in before I go. We have a room for 3 nights and there's 5 of us. Party, party, party.

Hi Katrina! Hope you did well on the motorcycle course...it's kind of like "boot camp for bikes" . But, it's wonderful and really gives you the basics and confidence. I completed the course in Sept., the Sat. & Sun. before my surgery on Monday, would you believe! But, here in New England, I felt the need to get everything done before the cold sets in. Come the spring I'll be all set with my new self and my new bike! At least that's the plan..... I bought a 04 Honda Shadow and I love it. Hoping for a warm Nov./Dec. day and I just may venture out before spring. So, write back and let me know how you made out with the course>.

Congratulations Suzie! I also have a 04 Shadow VLX and love it! I just had my surgery on 9/26, so I'm not going to be riding for a while and miss it. I've joined the Massachusetts Chapter of Rolling Thunder. It's a group dedicated to Veterans issues and rights, but do many other good deeds. There's probably a Chapter in Texas...... STay safe!
