Topic: RE: So where is everyone?
Hey Matt season is starting up again. We can't hit Americade until the kids are out of the picture, unfortunately it happens while there in school. I get all the brochures and it is on the list of trips to make.
I have a suzuki 850 that I ride and DH has a vstar 1100. --- I know what you mean by the two bikes. I always ride the vstar to work. All highway. Riding the Suzuki in and out of work is so hard. The bike just beats the **** out of me. When I ride his it is like riding in a caddy. My bike is awesome for the New Hampshire back roads. I prefer it for our casual rides.

It looks like this board has been abandoned!
I know I've had my bikes out a few weeks now the weather has warmed up. My son and I have already made one trip up to the trails and had a great day there. It had rained a couple days before, so the sandy areas still had enough moisture to get decent traction going uphill. We're still not going to place in any race, but we were able to do 26 miles in less than half the time of when we started riding a couple years ago.
This spring we bought a 650 Ninja sport/commuter. I thought it would be fun to buzz around town with and a smaller bike for my son to learn to ride with me while I'm on the Vulcan. It is a great bike and the two are so different. The 650 is light, nimble and very responsive. I still prefer the Vulcan on the highway, though. It's kind of like having a luxury car and a sportscar. The Vulcan is a beast weight wise, but it sure rides smooth. The Ninja actually makes more horsepower than the Vulcan's 1500cc's but gets blown around pretty easy and you get a lot of air blast as the rider. They both have their pros and cons. It is a lot of fun to snort around town on the 650, though - I just have to watch my speed as the local law enforcement always seems to be watching me as I go by! LOL
So what's everyone else been up to? Is anyonoe going to Americade?
Hope everyone has a good and safe week!
Matt

Pretty cool.
Thanks for sharing your find!
I'd be scared to try jumping a hard tail, yet alone a bike that big!
It's good to see a post. I thought this board had died!

Let me know if you get to go to the cabin. We're not far from there. We can give you some pointers on great roads to ride on. Deals Gap "The Dragon" (318 curves in 11 miles) is not far!!! It's great to ride, just beware on the weekends- the sport bikes tend to overtake it and love to pass in the curves. It's definitely different from roads up North though so you need to be careful. We have tons of accidents on the road each year and it's because there is no shoulder and most people aren't used to it. If you ride it like you have some sense it's a great thrill!!!! We'd be more than happy to show you around!!! Good luck on your lap band!!!! I'll be thinking about you on Tuesday!!!!

I too am new to the boards and new to WLS. I am scheduled for Lap Band surgery next Tuesday. Your posting caught my eye... I have an '04 Goldwing 1800 (White) and my wife has a '94 1500 Aspencade (Wineberry) that is triked
We can't wait to get them out on the road again - Michigan weather is just not cooperating. My wife was looking at a cabin for rent near Pigeon Forge/Dollywood -- thinking about taking a road trip when I'm feeling more thin and up for an adventure.

Down here in NC Ive been riding all year.f course living in NH before the cold weather isnt as bad. Just got an 07 Harley Street Glide and love it. Congratulation on your weight loss!!

We are planning a trip to Yellowstone this year for two weeks. I think I'm probably just going to ride with him so we can save money on gas, etc. It should be a great time just the two of us!! We started out with four other couples but they have all chickened out and decided to haul their bikes in an RV Toy Hauler-- they are just not dedicated motorcycle riders I guess!!!
Take care!!
Topic: RE: Can't wait to see??
Congratulations to both of you!
I'm sure you'll notice a big difference when you get back to riding! I've found it much more enjoyable now. But, with you having your own trike, you'll probably ride more on your own, right?
Hopefully we can get our bikes back on the road soon!
Keep up the great work!
Matt
Topic: Can't wait to see??
I am new to this board but just thought I'd post a message and say I can't wait to see how my husband and I fit on his Goldwing together now. In February 2005 we triked his 1995 Honda Goldwing (Magenta) for me. I loved it!!! The deal was I had to put at least 3000 miles on it in the first year or he was going to sell it. I made it and put 3500 miles on!!! Last year I doubled my first year total coming in at just over 7000 miles. We even went to Niagara Falls from Tennessee!!! Of course, when we triked his bike that meant he got a new one. He got an '05 Honda 1800 Goldwing (metallic blue). Before we had our surgery in November '06 it had gotten to the point that when I did ride with him it was so uncomfortable. We haven't been able to ride except for a few days so far this year and I rode my bike those times. With him down almost 100 pounds and me down 62, I can't wait to see what it feels like!!!
