I saw this movie on 12/12 and had never read the books. I loved it! Very well acted and the special effects were very good. It is definitly a movie best viewed on the big screen (same with King Kong).

Totally LOVED it.
Of course I'd love if they would have included more detail from the movies, but they did capture the spirit of the story very well!

If you loved Lord of the Rings, you will also love the Chronicles of Narnia (The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe) by CW Lewis. This book has been made into one of the most amazing fantasy movies of all time. It's CGI/animation/real live actors combined. The animation was so amazing and real that it was difficult to tell whether it was real or not. I loved the story and it was just a beautiful picture. Go see it!!

Two words...
HATED IT!!! (3 snaps in Z formation!!!) Billy Bob played a bad guy...(big stretch there), John Cusack played a guy in love...would do anything for his girl... but he was heavily involved in the strip/entertainment industry... just can't see it... anyway... left the theater disgusted...

I am not a Jennifer Aniston fan but I have to say she was really good and very convincing in this movie. She has done very well at transitioning from TV to movie and she has like another 3 movies due out soon. Well worth the cost of ticket and popcorn!!!

I saw North Country too and really enjoyed it. Charlize is hard to beat!!! She is dynamite!!!
That twist at the end blew me away...wasn't expecting that at all! Its amazing what an opinion vs the facts can do to a person.
WOW!!!

Hi Doug,
I loved it... I found myself dancing in my seat and my foot tapping and swinging and not realizing it...
Joaquinn (?sp) should definitely get an academy award for this one. I was not all that impressed with Reese Witherspoon as June Carter Cash. Don't remember June being that "sweet". Don't get me wrong, I love Reese, just don't think she was the right choice for the part. Not sure who could have played it though...
I was most impressed that they both did their own singing.
A great movie and I will definitely see it again!!

Howdy to everyone! I'm Kaye, and although I'm new to the Movies MB, I've been on Obesityhelp...um...2 years, I think. I wanted to say "Hello" and find out what you all are talking about.
I'm a huge movie buff, and love talking about film. I'm also scheduled for my 3rd attempt at bariatric surgery on 12/8. The previous two found an anomaly with my anatomy (shifted trach, has a kink), so this time their performing a tracheostomy before gastric bypass.
Well, I just wanted to give a shout out to my fellow film freaks. Everyone have a great week!

I'm SHOCKED!!!
I was out of town and my wife and I decided to go see a movie.
Being out of towners where we were...we decided just to "go" and see what was playing at a theater we could see down the street, without the benefit of being able to consult a movie schedule.
When we got to the theater the only movie available without a long wait was "Walk the Line".
I still can't get over the fact that this movie sucked me in, and I found myself really enjoying it.
Anyone else out there seen it??? What did you think???
Doug...
