Topic: Nail Tech needs help!!!!
My employer is pushing me to begin doing gel nails as not many people in our town do them. My question, what are the pros and cons instead of acrylic????

Hi Shelly. I just found this message board. I'm hoping to have surgery in October. I passed my state boards last year but haven't worked in a salon or on my own since then - other than to do my mom's, niece's, friend's nails. I'm working on a plan of doing some independent work but in WI there are specific rules about that.

Hi Shelly, I just found this sight!! I think it is a great idea to become a nail tech, I have been for about 3 years now and love it! Good luck, and let us know how it turns out!

hey traci, i have done nails for 20 yrs, and have tried different nail products, but usually return to creative nails. i used a buffalo drill, and it was so easy, comfortable and light weight, just like pencil in hand. i have taught nail, and cos. I no longer do nails, not even my own lol. if anyone wants or is looking for nail tool, it is new, and in excellent shape. i never had lifting, ridges, or any problems, all acylic nails. becky 15 yrs, po 235/126 DS

i did have less lifting with TT. I love their primer. To me it was the best out there. I like TT because its a softer acrylic and it doesn't take as much work to do the filing.. I do all my filing by hand. I never use a drill unless im doing a backfill. i just never liked them much. and oh yeah i can definately relate...lol i almost hate to look at my nails now..... Traci
