NOBODY TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO GIVE UP FRY BREAD!!!!!!!!!! Once we are post op will I still be able to have Deer, Caribou, and Moose?? What about seal oil???? Beluga??? Man THIS COULD BE A SERIOUS DOWNSIDE???
Stink Fish won't be a problem for me to give up

Camai everyone,
I wanted to ask all the other members of this board, what issues and things would be appropriate to discuss here????? Is it straight WLS and personal issues? Or since to get here you have to go thru Activism, would those be Native Issues and problems be welcomed? And what about Good News & info that might interest other members???
So whatcha think?

Diane thanks ever so much for the warm welcome!! I am so happy to know that the Creator was on your side and helped you thru your hurdles. Congratulations on your loses not just of weight but also disease!!
I was shocked to find out that so many people are cured from diabetes with this surgery. The doctor I am going to next is actually doing grant funded research on just that topic! I have Sleep Apnea which is treated with a permanent tracheostomy ( We call ourselves neckbreathers-My husband said he thought of it more as being "TurboVented" ), and I hear that RNY cures 80% of those. How wonderful it would be to have this neck sewed up!!
Well, my Dr. got up with the Drs. at East Carolina University, and I have to attend yet ANOTHER seminar, and I will be receiving an appointment in the mail to attend one this coming February! Hey, but it is at least a start. That there is a reason for everything that we go thru in life, good or bad, is one of my firmest beliefs.

Welcome Wendy! I was excited to find this site also. We may start out small but if we keep at it, we could get this busier.
