Not that I am a professional or anything, But since you aren't a heavy eater, maybe you can quicken your metabolism by making yourself have 4-6 small meals a day. Protien is also very important for the healing tissues both before during and after surgery. Lots of veggies, dairy, fruits and low fat meats. I also found that I started walking 2-4 miles a day before my surgery, and it really helped alot with the whole healing process after surgery. I had such an easy time, I questioned wether or not I had had surgery. Had it not been for the 35 staples, I wouldnt have even thought I did. I started at 309 at surgery and am now down 71 lbs. Only 66 more till goal. Good luck to you, And may your journey be uneventful and your weightloss be great!

POSOH! Amy!
Nice to meet you my friend (Namet). I am Menominee from the Menominee Indian Reservation just 50 miles north of Green Bay Wisconsin. So good to see some Native folks on this board. It is generally pretty quiet here.
I had open RNY August 27, 2004. I am currenly down 71 pounds from 309. That's in 5 months. I have absolutlely no regrets, ok, maybe one.....I wish I would have done it sooner. I miss fry bread, and indian tacos, and all that goooooodddd foood! But the results give me the motivation I need to stick with it.
Welcome and hope to keep hearing from you.

Halito, I am choctaw indian and wanted to say I am in the process of getting my surgery. I am in WA and am having surgery in CA. Just happened that way. I am excited I am in the process of losing my 30lbs. I have been to see dietician, and phycologist, and Dr I have been cleared to have the surgery. Now 20 lbs more and I am scheduled for surgery. If anyone knows of the best way to take the 20 off quicker let me know. I am not a heavy eater, in fact I am a one meal eater but alas a swet feind. so I got all candy out of the house and have been doing well. wish me luck any helpful hints are welcomed. Marylou
