Any Navy wives out there?

Hi Everyone, I'm a navy wife. My hubby retired after 20 years. Both sons are in the navey now. Well, one of them are in bocamp right now. Been in for 3 weeks now. He is doing ok. LOL!! I know he wish he was home. We sure do miss him. But, This is the best thing for him. Nice to meet all you . DEBRA

I am also a Navy wife. We are currently in Hawaii and live in Honolulu, and hoping to move to Coneticut next August.

I too am a Navy wife. We just moved to SC in December 2004 - DH will be working at NWS Chasn... FOUR years of shore duty! YEAH! He also just came off the GW. I had my surgery 9/29 at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, but since we're now in SC, I'm looking for a support group in this area.

Another Navy wife. We've been in VA for about 10 years now. Hubby is leaving shore duty in Norfolk and going back to the "IKE". Looks like we'll retire here. I'm new to this site but it's awesome so far! I'm trying to get my doctor to approve my WLS. Any advice would be great. I'll most likely have my surgery at Portsmouth Naval.

Hello. I just came across this post and figured what the heck. I am also a navy wife. We are currently stationed in KINGSBAY, GA. I'm originally from Goose Creek, SC. HI BRIT!!!! Don't know you but saw you're in my neck of the woods (born and raised there until we moved here 2 1/2 yrs ago). We are trying to decide whether or not we'll be re-enlisting for shore duty next year. We probably will. If so, we'll be going back to Goose Creek. My husband used to be Staff at the NWS. Yeah...he's a Nuke. I know one thing for sure....those subs make me nervous. Boy I am rambling. i just wanted to introduce myself to everyone out there. Right now I am in my beginning phases....waiting for my pcp to get auth to see the surgeon. I am really hoping I get the auth, because from what I understand....it won't be too hard after that to get the approval. From what I've read..the doctor's staff does the rest of the work (pretty much) for you. I've, like everyone else, dealt with this and am tired of yo yo dieting. I miss doing the things I used to enjoy and am anxious to have the engery I used to have. Right now, just the thought of going outside to play w/ the kids is very discouraging. I can't wait to go through the journey of WLS. I hope to be able to get the chance! I would love to hear from any and everyone who had to deal w/ tricare prime. What should I expect????? Hello another navy wife here. DH is on the Gettysburg, we are in Mayport, Florida at NS Mayport.

HI I am a Navy wife also. We are stationed in Naples, Italy we have been here a little over 2 years got about 9 months to go. Hubby hasnt decided if he is retiring or doing another tour.....WIshed he would decide. I am from Memphis, Tennessee and my family has moved to Summerville, SC since we have been here. I had my Gastric SUrgery alsmost a year ago lost 127 pouns and feel WONDERFUL! and love getting to buy new clothes and the Italian clothes at the great prices!! WOOHOOO lol
