Topic: WLS @ Balboa NMC anyone?
Hello I am new to this site. I have finally received my 'date' for WLS 2/6/06. Has anyone here had surgery at Balboa? I have met a few military folks who had WLS at various SD hospitals through TRICARE. I guess the program is still very new at Balboa........... I live in Huntington Beach (near Seal Beach) and am very excited! Any info would be appreciated. Heidi

Topic: UPDATE ON KELLY D :-)
I went to the Hospital and saw Kelly. She was surprised to have a guest. She was lying in bed enjoying her morphine She was scheduled for 12:30 pm and didn't go in until 6 pm, got in her room around 10 pm. She hadn't had anything to drink since Monday night when I got there. She showed me her incisions, small really and sealed with glue. She has some pain on her right side. She was on the IV and morphine drip and the leg pumpers were on. The nurse came in while I was there and said it was time for ice chips and walking and sitting up in a chair for 12 hours. She states the pain is subsiding pretty quickly. We are thinking she'll be home Friday afternoon. I gave her the print out of her surgery support page and she was overwhelmed with the kindness. Seeing her in person, has helped me a lot. She had vertical and so am I. I'm convinced I'll be okay now. Kelly says thanks for your kind words and prayers! She'll be checking in with me or the site soon! http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/members/status.php?N=D1117346763 ::hugs:: Cyndi S.

Topic: PLEASE RESPOND !!!
I will be going to the hospital tomorrow to do some pre-op items. While there, I will be visiting Kelly D. who is having her surgery tomorrow. I want to bring a printed copy of her surgery support page to her. I would like to get as many people as possible to post to her page so that tomorrow morning I can take it to her. This would mean so much to her. Thank you in advance!!! Cyndi S. http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/members/status.php?N=D1117346763
