Yup..8 months ago I was 316 at my signing day. At my preop i was 331. She told me she needed to check if they would still let me go onto the diet and then came back and said I better do well on the 1 week liquid diet weigh in or my surgery would be cancelled.
ive finally started the process. April 7 th I got the encouragement to speak with my family to discuss the possibility of being referred for surgery. He thinks it would be best for me.
Im 31 and have 2 small boys that need me to be healthy. It's a funny feeling because I 'feel' healthy right now although im far from it. I have no energy at all to do much of anything, and recently put my back out twice . I do not have diabetes, but each time I get blood work done... I expect the results to come back that I do as it's huge in my family's history.
I just got back from a vacation down south. I was speaking to my husband about how I actually perceive myself. .. and that is the fact that I don't think of myself as obese until I look in a mirror or look at pictures ... I am constantly saying `is that what I really look like`. The fact is. .. yes it is. It's hard because what I see in those pictures is a person who is so unhealthy. ..
I am so excited that I've started this process and reading all your posts is inspiring
So from when you signed your papers back in September until you had your pre-op testing you had gained maybe 15 pounds or so and they were thinking they would possibly cancel your surgery??

Hi Jen,
I dieted for a month and went from 337 to 316...it's really hard for me to lose weight. When I went back for my preop on the 7th I weighed in at 331...I had been drinking a ton of water and my monthly visitor was due. So I gained back the weight I lost and for about 5 minutes while they discussed it told me my surgery maybe cancelled. So I am working this liquid diet like a mad woman. Dr B told me when I signed the paperson to stop dieting as it hasn't worked in the past just try to make better choices and healthy changes. The monthly visitor will make a big difference and after almost 7 day it is slowly going down still sitting at the 7 pounds tho.
Hi Kim...I signed my papers on October 3rd of last year which was the last time I was weighed and I have been stressing that I have gained since then. If you don't mind me asking how many did you go up? I know they have been very strict in Moncton about not gaining weight. It has been hard not too over the course of the last 16 months since the initial visit! Still waiting for my call

You brave woman!! Hats off to you...
Wow long process for you...as my last weight in was on April 7th and my process was started on March 6th...I guess we are lucky here in Bathurst that it goes pretty quick after your first appointment!! I went to the clinic last week to ask a few questions to the dietician (to make sure I was all in line for my boost part) and at the same time weighted myself and gained 1 pound in 1 month!! And since I found out my date I wasn't really watching what I was eating!! lol
Hope everything goes well your way though!! I can't wait in 12 days from today ;)
WTG I am on May26th...cant wait to have it behind me!!!! Congrats!!!!!
Hi Tracey I am here with you lol. I was up a few pounds since my last weigh in in Sept so they stressed I had to do well on the diet and have a good first weigh in., I started 4 days early with premier prtein shakes 800 cal....this is technically my 7 th day...but if I had of followed what they wanted it would have been my second day. I just want to weigh in good to make sure the surgery happens. But the headaches started this morning...yuck...and sore stomach since last night off and on....hopefully it gets better for both of us!!! All the best...Kim
Hi everyone. i am on my pre surgery liquid 2 week diet. Because I was up a few pounds since my last visit last September I started 4 days prior and started on 800 cal premier protein to get a jump start. I am on my 6th day of liquids and I am struggling with an ache in my stomach since yesterday and a headache. On the plus side I am down 7 pounds. I have my weigh in on the 19th and praying i get down far enough. So in reality I am on an 18 day diet as they weren't happy about those extra few pounds. This is tough and I am praying it gets better soon.
