Pain is just a little more then I can handle but they are giving me morphine that makes it more tolerable but I feel like I have been hit by a bus .....then it backed up and ran me down again . extremely tired because my oxygen leavel dropped every time I doze off.... But they just have me am oxygen tube so I think this will help ....
Hi Kim, Waiting for the call for the surgery date is a really hard and long road. I was referred Dr Beausoleil in 2009 and just had surgery in January this year. I can assure you that Dr Beausoleil is well worth the wait. A few weeks after having the VSG in January, I started having pretty severe nausea and vomiting. I went to the Dumont hospital in early February and spent several days in the hospital getting rehydrated. I was feeling ok and went hiome. ALmost immediately, I experienced severe nausea and vomiting again, but figured it was just something I was expecting to pass. A coupla weeks later, back to the Dumont, again very dehydrated. Dr Beausoleil was concerned and sent me for a cat scan. Turns out I had a small leak in my stomach, which is rare, but can happen with VSG's. After a couple of weeks of tube feeding (along with lots of antibiotics), I was healthy and the leak in my stomach was fixed. The point I'd like to make is that Dr Beauoleil is well worth the wait. He explained all of the possible outcomes, and visted with me each day. He's a great surgeon, and a heck of a nice guy. You'll soon be on your way to a new and exciting life and I wish you the very best.
PS The staff on 4A are top notch. You'll be in very good hands!
All the best- Peter
Hey karasmom!! As you know, I can't help you with most of this question, but one thing I do know is that you have been following your plan so well that they are going to be so happy with your progress!! You have been such a godsend to me and I'm sure you are super prepared for your appointment and they will be able to answer all of your questions on Friday! You know they are they to help us and they are so well equipped with knowledge and tools to make this work!
Will be waiting to hear how you make out!!!!!
Hi Jamie. I couldn't imagine that they would cancel again, so you are likely just a couple of hours away from getting your surgery and onto the next phase of your new life!!!!! I can't imagine how you are feeling at this moment! Likely didn't get much sleep!!! I have asked the anethesiologist if I could have something before surgery to calm my nerves when I arrive at the hospital! Likely they will do the same for you!!
I hope and pray that all will go as planned and will anxiously be waiting to see a post from you with your experience!
Good luck for tomorrow!!
Wow only 8 days of boost??? It's 14 days in Bathurst...
Thanks All :)
