De-lurking

I've been lurking for a while and think that it is about time I made it official. No more lurking.  I have just recently (early June) started the process/jumping through hoops for my insurance company. This website has been a tremendous help to me. I'm glad my friend recommended it.

I've noticed that a bunch of you have Dr, Chapman. Does anyone out there have Dr. MacDonald?  I'm looking forward to getting you you all.

Good to meet you, no more lurking!  I have Dr. Chapman and love him, but I would have been comfortable with Dr. MacDonald as well.  They have both been doing this surgery for a long time and are well respected within their fields.  I think you'll be pleased.  There are some MacDonald patients on here, but I can't remember who they are.  Good luck with the approval process. Thanks for the warm welcome. My isurance carrier is TriCare (Prime). So far I have had my psych eval, pulmonary eval, cadio eval, blood work(ouch), chest x-ray, nutritionist visit. I think all I have left is an endoscopy. Unfortunately I will be away during the Wilmington get-together.  I would have loved to have gone and met you all. Yes, my husband is stationed at Camp Lejeune. Linda

I'm assuming that you are stationed at Camp LeJeune or New River. You may have noticed that we are going to have a get together July 28th in Wilmington. We'd love to have you join us for the pot luck or for the week-end. I think you'll find some other folks from your area attending. It's a nice way to meet folks face-to-face. Welcome! Always nice to meet someone new. This site and the people on it are amazing. I have learned so much from them and their experiences with WLS. I can't imagine going into it without their advise and support. So many people don't understand the issues we, as obese people, have to deal with. It's nice to know that these peeps are here for you. Welcome to the site..... I, too have heard that MacDonald is a good dr., but I'm going to Charlotte, so I couldn't say firsthand. How far are you in your process?  If you need a psych, I used Dr. Farmer off country club.  He was pretty fun actually. Welcome to the board... pull up a chair... pour a drink... make yourself at home. Good luck with the insurance hoops. They are not that bad if your docs have a competent insurance person on staff.  Sorry... I really should be nicer about that.
