Repost from RNY board ... Mini-Rant ... Clerk was really rude
I needed to get a swimsuit because none of mine fit. I stopped at the "Catherine's" store near my home. I'm wearing a size 14W now, so I'm about to size out of that store. I like a lot of the things that they have so I asked the clerk there if she could tell me if they had any sister stores. After she filled me in, she said "How did you loose from a 22/24W to a 14W? I told her that "I had gastric bypass." She said "Oh, you cheated and took the easy way out." I was fuming. Generally I'm non-confrontational, but I told her "First, I find your comment offensive. Second, you were rude. Third, I doubt that you've ever had major surgery; if you did you would know there is nothing easy about recovering from major surgery." I was so mad, I was about to spit nails.
Thanks for letting me get it off my chest,
Barb

I recently was telling a "friend" that I was thinking about getting the Lap-Band. She said isn't that cheating? I was really upset, but I figured this would be the first of many stupid and inappropriate comments. Good for you, I will use your words of wisdom the next time I encounter a "friend's" comments.

Way to go Barbara, the fact that some people even feel the need to come out of their mouth with such silliness is amazing to me. I wish folks would just carry this little thought around with them "It is better to remain silent and thought a fool, than open your mouth and remove all doubt" -Confucious
Always the best

I always say, " Until you've walked in my shoes, you don't know what you would do in my situation and vice versa. The best thing about your exerience today, You won't have to shop at Catherine's much longer because everything will be too Big for you!
Then you can walk into that store when that clerk is there and casually say, " Oh, You don't have a thing I can Wear!" and walk your skinny little bottom right out after giving her a great big smile!
Your friend,
Bobbie

Good for you in setting her straight!
Hugs.
