Moving to NC

I had gastric bypass two years ago. Will be moving to Hendersonville full time by the beginning of 2008 - I already have a place there but have just been there for long weekends and vacations. Anyone know of a support group in the Hendersonville/Asheville area? In addition to enjoying the support from fellow WLS grads I thought it would be a good way to meet new people. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. Wilma

Hello and welcome to NC ! I have lived here all my life and I couldn't think of a better place to live ,we have Mountains,piedmont,and the beaches.  I don't know of any groups yet because I'm just sstarting on my journey for WLS however I will check into it !

Mission Hospital in Asheville has a weight loss surgery program that includes a support group.  It's probably about 20 minutes north of Hendersonville.  Good luck with your move.

 Thanks so much for the info. I'll look into it once I'm settled in Hendersonville. I go into Asheville all the time when I'm in NC so the 20 minute drive is not problem. Wilma

Hi Sheryl. Thanks for the welcome. Your weight loss is  very impressive so I hope you're enjoying living the "thin" life. I just got back from NC today and still marvel when the seat belt on the plant fits so easily without an extender. Keep up the good work. Wilma
