I think it's very common and part of the beauty of this experience. It seems to re-wire how view food consumption. Of course, it changes over time, but it gave the "opportunity" to rework my perceptions of how much is enough in my own minds eye.

I would sit at the table and be very aware of what everyone was eating around me, their choices, their amounts, and the time they take to inhale it. It was unreal. I would comment to DH, "that woman over there is ordering 3 starches and no protein,", "or did you see how fast they ate and left?" while I was still into the first half of my protein. The feeling has pretty much faded, so I am not so much aware of what others are doing now as I am allowed more choices. Sad it took surgery for me to finally "see the light" but am so thankful for it, and the obesity sickness did not win. Good luck on your journey!
