3 months out and doing well!
We had a great trip to Las Vegas over the holidays and I even picked up some shirts in size 22/24! This was a big WOW moment for me since I was wearing 26/28 in HIGH SCHOOL!!!!! I don't remember ever wearing a 22/24 as they were always TOO SMALL!!! I'm not totally to 22/24 yet, but some 3xs are very large on me and I can fit perfectly into 2x. It still just BLOWS MY MIND!!!!
James (my DH) is loving the weight loss and I keep telling him-- just wait, there is more to come! *hehe*
I have finally begun "feeling" smaller if you know what I mean. It is easier to hook a seatbelt, move around in the car and other 'simple' things. I never realize how much harder it was when I was bigger!
Eating is still a challenge, but I'm getting there. I have resolved myself to the fact that it is trial and error. Vacation did have some bumps in the road, but it was mainly b/c I ate too fast or drank too much too soon before eating. One of my resolutions this new year is to exercise more and eat healthier. I know I'm eating smaller portions, but some of those old foods are creeping back in. I need to take fix that issue NOW before it gets out of hand.
Anyway, I hope you all had a great Christmas and here's to a wonderful 2008 for all of us!!! Thanks so much for your support and friendship! It truly is cherished!!! Melinda

Hey Melinda,
Glad to see your update! We had our surgery so close to the same time and are on the same track with our "since surgery" loss too! I "hit" 62 today. I probably have some 22/24's for your if interested... some stuff pretty new. Will you be able to meet for lunch next week on the 15th when I"m down there? Or come to the Raleigh gathering on the 19th? If so, let me know and I'll be rounding up some stuff for you. I have quite a few tops I think, some like new!
Hope to see you soon!
Melinda -
Thanks so much for the update. It's great to hear that you are doing sooooo well! Congratulations on all your hard work. It's just amazing that you've nearly lost a total of 100 lbs! Be sure to make note of all of those little WOWs that happen, like fastening your seatbelt more easily. It's one of those things that really helps to see just how far we've come in terms that aren't related to the scale, but really more to the quality of life improvments.
I also applaude you for noticing the changes in your eating patterns. When's the last time you could honestly say that you were able to effectively identify and isolate issues that were contributing to your problems with food in the past?! Kudos for recognizing issues and putting a plan of attack into action.
Enjoy those 22/24's while you can. Soon you won't be able to wear anything in a plus size.
Wishing you continued success, health and happiness in the new year.
