You should hear back from your insurance soon... I also have BCBS state health plan and I was approved by the time I met with Dr. Mac! I guess maybe it's b/c of the lapband? I know that hasn't been done as long, so it may not be immediate aproval. Either way, i think you will have an approval in no time!!! There is still time to get in by Memorial Day! The only negative I have about SS is the waiting time... sometimes they do make you wait a long time after your appt time, but at least everything else is great! Keep us posted and good luck!

I'm sorry that the appointment was disappointing. I know that I too had high expectations for  my appointment and found it somewhat anticlimactic. I think that we have so much vested in this and are really hoping for an enlightening, informative session with our Dr. I also think that this is pretty routine for them. Beyond that, we have often already asked and found answers to so many of our questions by the time we get there, that often there isn't that much left to ask.

I found that this portion of the process was just about the hardest for me. I so filled with anticipation and anxiety. The good news is that it will pass soon and you'll be your way to the loser's bench in no time.

Please let us know what happens with the insurance and when you get a date.

Best of luck - State BCBS normally answers w/ in 24 - 48 hours. Sometimes they take a little longer but I have never had them take more then a week.  Maybe your week will end on a better note since it's been a rough week for you.

I am sorry that you were disappointment I hope that you hear something really soon!! You will be on that losers bench before you know it!!!

I have BCBSNC and they only took like 2 days to approve me for lapband after they received my claim.
