What are some things that made you DUMP after surgery?  I'm just curious to know so that I make sure I stay away from those things.

It will be something that will be somewhat trail and error. Things that you have a hard time with early on, may be things you can tolerate later. Basically, you are most likely to have issues with things that have a higher carb or fat content. If you follow you Dr's protocol, you should do well.

Wishing you every success in your journey.

I dump on ice cream, but no other dairy (or anything else as of yet)...  Everyone is different but I know sweets are a biggy.

I am 2 years out I consider myself the Queen of The Dump  :)
crab legs
ice cream
sweets
rice
were my worst .. but I dumped on other foods if I eat to fast or too much, it is a case of trail and error it takes awhile to learn what your pouch will take .

Still-- it is worth the dump to wear a size 10

take care

Nothing.

The majority of RNYers do not dump, of those that do dump its off different amounts of fat and/or sugar and different forms. You really cannot just avoid what causes dumping in others because you wont necessarily dump off it too - also you may find you dump off something that doesnt cause somebody else to dump - as stated above its really trial and error. Most surgeons give a guideline of what to keep the fat/sugar under per serving to help to keep you from dumping. I was told to do 'single digits' - so fat and sugar 9g or less per serving.

I have never dumped but do get the foamies if I eat to fast, don't chew properly or eat something that doesn't agree with me like rice and bread.    We are all different and what I may not tolerate, you can.    Just follow what your surgeon and nut says and you will be fine!

Sugar makes me dump.  I try real hard to stay at or below 6 grams of sugar or less per serving of anything I eat.  But sometimes, there are hidden sugars, or even natural sugars, that will cause me to dump.  Just be careful and read labels.  And if you are a dumper, you'll find out soon enough what does it to you.  It's different for a lot of us.

Sugar and Aspartame!  I dump on anything that has over 4g of sugar or that is sweetened with aspartame, but I believe it is different for everyone.

I have not dumped yet either, but I have gotten the foamies and thrown up because:

1.  The piece of meat was too dry
2.  I didn't chew it well enough
3.  I ate too fast (didn't wait long enough between bites)
4.  I pulled the skin off of a piece of fried chicken breast and tried to eat the meat - it was still too greasy and made me throw up within 5 minutes of eating it.

I don't think I have ever dumped but I do keep the sugar for the most part below 6. Fat also.  I have got the foamies but there is not foam involved just up-chuck. It hapens when I eat to fast... don't chew enough.....have too much...and occasionaly with leftovers (not often).  I feel I am lucky! I do believe I had a low sugar moment this week and had a hallowgram wheel in front of my eyes for about 10 min. That was wierd. I took a centrum silver and it went away guess the sugar in it was enough.
