OMGGGGGG, I was just hospitalized with it... I had the worse episode that woke me out of a sound sleep. I was so disoriented and throwing up shaky and very weak. They had to sedate me at the hospital to stop me from spinning and get a brain scan.
I went to a specialist and they said it had nothing to do with WLS but still in my little pea brain I feel it does. I have been down for 4 days now. This is truly the worse feeling ever......... nothing like going on a ride at the fair for FREE............... Just so you know, I don't DO rides.........
Edited to say, you do NOT have to have an ear infection to have VERTIGO. I am not dehydrated I get in all of my fluids everyday. They do not know what causes it. I spoke to my Nut she also said it has nothing to do with WLS.
Hey girl,
I'm sorry you're having such a hard time with this also! I was at work when it decided to hit and I thought I was going to loose it right there and then (in the 911 center), thank God I kept it in, but there was a trash can nearby at all times.
I know it has nothing to do with WLS, I used to get them before WLS also, but usually not as bad as this time. I have never ended up in the hospital - I feel so bad for you! Mine just gives me a major headache, my head spinns, I feel sick to my stomach and my ears hurt a bit. Mine usually is the result of an inner ear infection or sinus stuff and the barametric pressure. I wish they'd figure it out so we didn't have to go through this again! I like rollercoasters, but only when I want to go for a ride!
Get well girl!

My sympathies! I have gotten severe vertigo for the past several years, complete with vomiting, inability to walk, the room spinning even when I'm laying down with my eyes shut! It always starts around mid-April and lasts several months, sometimes even until August. I finally figured out mine is allergy related and a daily dose of Claritin keeps it at bay. I hope you find out your cause and cure because it sure is no fun!
Thanks for your smpathies! I am feeling much better today. Yesterday my vertigo was on and off again but my ears keep clogging up. I take Allegra-D, Singulair and a nose spray every day and I get allergy shots every week... UGH! Anyway, I definately have an in ner ear infection so hopefully the drugs will get rid of that soon! I know my vertigo is allergy/sinus related because it's always around this time of year that I get it. I thought it was an NC thing because I lived here from 2000 to 2002 and got Vertigo back then. I never had this problem in California or Oregon, when I moved back here in 2005 and the vertigo didn't come back, I thought maybe I'd "grown out of it" or something... Oh well. Anyway, thanks again for the thought. I hate the spins!! whew it's no fun at all!!!
Have a great day!
