Hernia Girls Saga

  Well, my 6 month visit was June 23. All went well but...Dr. B wants me to go see Dr. Pryor at Duke to start the discussion of fixing my Big Daddy Hernia. He belkieves my hernia is so large I need to have Duke Drs to handle it.  Has any of you fine people used Dr. Pryor for hernia surgery and will she remove some excess skin when we do the deed? Anyone have knowlege in this area.? I am sure it will not happen soon because I figure I need to loose 58 lbs more  to reach my goal. I don't know what Dr. B's goal for me is. If I can loose 58 more lbs that will put me at 150lbs. I hope I can do this. I must be at a plateau since this month  I have only lost 4 lbs. Or it may be time for me to start loosing at a slower pace. my highest weight was 334 but I had lost some on ww before checking into wls. I think I was about 305 or 307 at my first nutritions visit. I am 208 now. I don't have pain so I am going to try and hold off on surgery as long as possible to get the max. weight loss I can.  
      Sorry for the long post but I was trying to make my situation clear to those which don't know me and my hernia probs. These hernias are due to heredity and years of obeisity and have nothing to due with wls in case some of you are concerned about wls causing such a problem for you.
    I believe wls and the results will help keep me from getting more in the future.

I don't know anything about the hernia stuff but just wanted to say you have come a long way BABY!!    And almost to onederland too...woohoo.

I don't know about Dr. Pryor's procedure, but I would assume they'd remove the excess skin at the same time.  Dr. Pirrello did one of those here, but it must have been smaller or Dr. Bauman would have referred you to him or done it himself.  But when Dr. Pirrello did it, he did do some excess skin removal at the same time.  Good luck ... you're almost at goal!!!

Dena I hope you are right. I really don't want to be cut on to many more times. It is a very large hernia. I have had it since the last hernia  surgery. It reoccered almost immediately after surgery. I hope this time is better.

Oh, I can certainly relate to the Big Daddy Hernia. LMOA
But I know nothing...maybe less...about the procedures.
