My Big Wow
THE BIG WOW!
Well, you always hear post-ops talk about how this surgery changes their lives, and now I know! J So…100 pounds gone (actually 104.) I’ve been at goal for a month & a half, and I’ve been maintaining within 5 pounds for at least 3 months. Many of you have heard my wow moments along the way: Roller coaster rides, airplane seats, painting my own toes, hearing fabulous comments from others, physically being able to do things that I’ve never done before. So, what other wow could still remain? The biggest one. The one I’ve dreamed about for years…
Are you ready?

I’m Pregnant!!!!!
I’m crying just typing it. I have PCOS and we tried for over 10 years to have a baby. Nothing on our own, nothing with clomid, nothing. So, WLS came along, and threw my life into a fabulous whirlwind of change. We decided to start trying in June, and boom, it happened right away! J We’re both so thrilled. I feel like I’ve been given the golden ticket. Wow. I’m pregnant! I’m actually pregnant!
I am soooooo excited for you!!! You and Ryan are going to make incredible parents!! Not only are you being blessed with this most incredible gift, but your baby is being blessed with wonderful parents. Your kindness, strength and determination are all things that are going to help you raise a wonderful child.
Enjoy the pregancy. I know that you are a little worried about the necessary weight gain, but don't be. Just continue to exercise and eat healthfully and you'll be fine. Of course, you'll have the normal 25 to 30 lb. gain, but when you keep it to that you'll have a strong, healthy baby and you'll be strong, healthy and return to your prepregancy weight without a significant struggle.
Love,
Barb

Your kind words go a long way. Thank you. I do have confidence that we're more than ready to take on this big change, and this baby will definitely have a loving home.
You're right...I am a little concerned about the weight gain, but am working on getting the idea set in my head. I know it's healthy, and that's the bottom line. My current plan is to continue weighing myself every day (just so I am reminded that this isn't permission to eat freely), but I have removed my weight loss ticker from my signature because I don't want it to be my focus. I'll concentrate more on the positive aspects of the growth! :)
Deb,
I love the new ticker! And you and Ryan will provide more than just a loving home. As you said you two are more than ready for the work and rewards that parenting will bring. I look forward to this new journey you two are embarking on together.
Love,
Barb
