What does everyone do....?
Not old - experienced. I don't know that I could handle 2 full time jobs. I'm wiped out at the end of one days work. I love to write but I limit it mostly to my journal and a little poetry now and again. It really helps to relax me.

I am the secretary/bookkeeper at a local year round elementary school - don't really enjoy working the 12 month schedule, but I have to pay that tuition and rent for my son - a junior at NC State. You are right about not knowing what we want to be when we grow up - I have worked in the medical field, propane gas field, retail and education - always some type of office job, Teacher Assistant job, etc. I did stay home for 5 years when my son was born - I remember at times thinking it will be nice when he gets in school - and here I sit all these years later and he's a junior in college - where does the time go??? Seems impossible he could have grown up this fast!!

They say time flies when you're having fun - I just didn't know I was having so much fun. My oldest just graduated from High School and I swear I just enrolled him for kindegarten a few months ago. I must have been in a coma for the past few years because I blinked and missed something.

I'm a Programmer/Analyst - Web for the City of Wilson. Started out 11 years ago as a secretary. Began taking classes to earn my AAS in IT. Worked my way into the webmaster position and now program. I'm currently taking classes which I hope will finally lead to a 4-year degree in Psychology or Liberal Studies.

Oh that's cool - one of my very best friends is an elementary school music teacher and yall remind me a lot of each other. Must be the artsy side to both of you. I have the rhythm of well - a deaf whale maybe. Singing or dancing is not pretty when I attempt either one.

My career path has also had lots of twists and turns. I was a Child Sexual Abuse Investigator in NY for 9 years, 2 years as a Juvenile Probation Officer in Texas, and the last 5 as a Special Education Teacher at Weddington Middle School. I teach 7th grade Math and Reading to students with mild disabilities.
