Hi Iris!  How I've enjoyed getting to know everyone better via this topic...thanks!

Some of my various titles, depending on what day it is, include:  Domestic Goddess, Desperate Housewife, Domestic Engineer, Homeschool Teacher.

I have been married for 22 years and homeschooled the kids for about 15.  Our 2 oldest graduated homeschooling.  Oldest daughter is now living on her own and has become a CNA, hoping to become an RN.  (She knows all about being worn out!)  Oldest son still lives at home and is in college, hoping to become a dental hygenist.  He says, "Great hours, great pay, low stress!"

Middle daughter homeschooled until the very end of 6th grade when she went to public school for athletics and future high school academics.  She is a gifted scholar and athlete, hoping to play college softball (she's a catcher).

Our youngest was homeschooled for pre-K, then went to public school for K & 1st, but homeschooled last year again for 2nd (wanted to spend his days with mom, lil stinker).  He is going back to public school for 3rd...to stay this time.

I think I am done with the homeschooling years.  Want to spend the next year or so regaining my health then I hope to find some great philanthropic adventures until hubby retires and we can begin traveling the world!

Hey everyone, this is only the 2nd time I have posted, but I read this forum several times a day.   I am a secretary / bookeeper at a small town  service station.  We do oil changes, brake work, inspections, pump your gas for you (Not many of these left), sell home heating oil and kerosene and also farm.  The business is 50 years old, my father and uncle used to operate this together along with my mother as secretary.  They are all deceased now and my cousin is the sole operator.  He asked me to be secretary and I felt like this is where I belong.  I love my job!!!.  Anyway,  I am a widow of 12 years and I have a 21 year old son.  Jonathan attended N C School of Science and Math in Durham the last 2 years old high school and went to NCSU for 2 years then transfered to UNC-Chapel Hill.  This is his second year.  I am so proud of him.  During the summer, he works at the Outer Banks at a surf shop.  We have a home there that I truly love.  I also clean cottages in Corolla, NC during the summer on Saturdays.  I am also the owner of Flythe Brothers Mini Storage.

One other thing, finally, after all of my appointments, I got a call Wednesday, and I have an appointment with Dr. MacDonald, on August 12.    I am so excited and nervous at the same time.  I am leaning more and more to Gastric By-pass as my choice of surgery.  I am ready to get started.

This is great!  Thanks for thinking of it.  I am a Realtor in Raleigh working Johnston, Wake, Franklin, Durham, Chapel Hill and Granville Counties since 2000.  My friends say I light up when I talk about Real Estate.  Before that I worked for a large TPA health insurance company.  I did that for about 10 years and before that I worked for a Radiologist and did all his billing.

Who's next.......

My job is that I'm a 911 dispatcher, working nights right now (hopefully days soon!)...  Anyway, I've been a dispatcher off and on for 14 years now but I'm ready for a change again.  When I lived in San Diego I did background investigations for security clearances, I'd LOVE to get into that again.  Other than my "job" I have been doing a lot of work around my house (just bought it in October), Rex (my fiance') and I have been raising a few hens, rooster and a duck, we have a small garden, now we're working on the pond (trying to build a waterfall).  So keeping busy.

I'm the right hand to a doctor.  I am the office manager and work long hours.  My boss takes care of me and I love my job and I love my patients.  She spends a lot on me and my family and takes me on vacation with her.  I am also going to school part-time to become a nurse.  Not in a hurry because I couldn't leave my job now.  I have two teenage children 14 and 16.  I'm lucky to have my husband who takes care of all of the household chores and works full time.  He has spoiled me rotten for the last 10 years, which will make it hard when he gets deployed in 3 months.

Iris - this was a great topic and I have truly enjoyed reading everyone's post.
I worked as a paramedic full time for 24 years for the county and have always worked a 2nd job as an LPN.  This June, I retired from the county and I only work one job now - LPN at a small ER.  So I know all about being busy and the pay is not great as a paramedic, that is why I have had 2 jobs most of my life.
I have 2 daughters, 31 and 28, and 2 grandchildren, grandson is 6 and granddaughter is 16 months.  By working one job now I have nmore time with my grandchildren.  They are wonderful....

Good to get to know about everyone

I am an Art teacher and a part-time medical transcriptionist.   I have taught for 23 years and worked in the medical field for 17 years.   My three daughters are grown and I have two grandchildren.  In two years I hope to retire and spend more time with the grandbabies.  Currently I teach for Nash-Rocky Mount Schools and work part-time at Nash General Hospital.  My field of expertise in Art is in the field of fibers.  I weave, knit, crochet, felt, make baskets, sew, quilt, and stitch.  Reading is my passion and one day when I grow up I hope to be a writer.

I am a stay at home mom to 3 boys (9,5,and 2) and I always tell everyone I have 4, the fourth one is 31!! LOL I have done many things but most have been customer service . I was an office  manager once of a Servpro(fire and water restoration) in Greensboro. I also was a sub teacher before we moved to the coast. I have aspirations to start college this winter since I will have 2 kids in school in Aug (yes there is a God!) I have always been fascinated with the ocean and when I was young and stupid had been accepted and had scholarships to go to Florida Institute  of Tech for their marine biology program. I got home sick for some stupid bf that I have no idea where is now and could care less too. But anyways.... I want to enroll in ECU or UNCW and try to work in the ocean. I am a little more scared of sharks now that I have kids but I believe it wonderful to be in the water daily and explore the unknowns of the sea. And if thats not possible my hubby and I have thought about getting licenses to be commercial shrimpers or fishermans.
