Surgery postponed Waa Waaa Waaa.

I woke up Monday morning with a sore throat and slight earache but went to my pre-op and was told it is probably viral and not to worry. With DH's heart stuff going on I just couldn't fit a visit with my PCP to check me out. During the night I asperated reflux and woke up Wednesday morning with the mother of all bronchitis infections. I couldn't get seen until today and my PCP made me promise to postpone my surgery if I did not feel better on Sunday morning. She prescribed a very strong antibiotic and said that I should see results by 48 hours. So on the way home I filled the prescription after a chest xray which was clear. But my PCP decided to pow wow with my surgeon and they came to the decision that I should wait. They are right but I am terribly disappointed of course. I should have made the time on Monday to see my doctor but it didn't happen. So there you have it. I will get back on my surgeon's schedule tomorrow or Monday. He felt I should be scheduled by the end of August or beginning of September. So I will wait and maybe with the grandkids gone back home with Mom it will be more relaxing to redo my presurgery diet.  Anyway that's my story and I'm stickin to it!

Thanks. I know it will happen its just not as soon as I want it. But then again Aug 4 was not soon enough for me either. SO a couple more weeks won't kill me.

OH I'm so sorry. Please take the meds and get your health built back up so you'll be perfectly healthy for this. I can only imagine how disappointed you are BUT I believe that everything happens for a reason. Get strong and you'll be on the losers bench in no time.

I appreciate all of you for the support. I know its for the better and for my health to wait. On the bright side....I went ahead and had some lasagna for dinner since I will have to start my pre-op diet over as soon as I get my new date. And then I had a peach. I enjoyed that very much.

I'm so sorry for your disappointment, I know that in a few months the extra time you had to wait won't really matter, but I know that Ben understands and I can only imagine your frustration.

I know Ben knows cause he has delays too doesn't he. We will both get there its just a matter of time.

Yep ... his delays are running into months instead of weeks and as you said, you'll both get there. Just think ... A year from now, things will be so very different for both of you. I can't wait!
