Stall

Thanks ellen,  I just have trouble visualizing myself loosing more weight. I wonder if I should have kept some  of the larger sized clothes in my doubtful moments. The stall causes self doubt.

I just found a box of clothes I put away 2 winters ago.  They were 3x and 4x, I just couldn't fathom that I wouldn't need them post surgery, surely I would still need plus sizes.    We're all in that boat at first.  Your head will catch up.

Every day I am thankful for this process.
Take care.

I have so many stalls it is just natural to me now!  I have tried journalling all foods and activities to see what is causing them.  My grand conclusion - who knows.  BUT, I do know how to get MY scale moving again. Change up everything!  If I have been doing the eliptical, I change to the recumbant bike for a couple of weeks.  If I always have poached egg for breakfast and fish for lunch, I'll change to oatmeal amd chicken.  I try new veggies.  It may take another week, but things do move again.  The longest stall I had was 3 weeks and I was ready to pull my hair out!  Part of my problem is I am weighing every day.  If I would weigh once a week I wouldn't feel so bad. Also, I only have 20 more pounds to lose and it is moving very slowly.  I lost very fast for the first 7 months, then plateaus for the last 3 months.  But slow and steady wins the race, and I will get there in the end!

I weigh every morning also. I just can't help it. I also eat basicly the same thing every day. Except for supper it will varry.  I  think my loosing pattern sounds like yours.  I hope I can do  as well as you have.

Try taking your measurements, you would be surprised how much you *shrink* even if the scale goes up and down, I have the same scale you do LOL I actually gain 2 lbs while sleeping sometimes and still cannot figure that one out hahahaha stalls are normal, Ive had plenty of them then the scale suddenly drops a few pounds, you can do it!!!

I wish I had taken measurements from the begining.  So I have nothing to compare with My hernia takes some of the joy of my body changing away from me. I really don't like looking in the mirror much. I want the scale to be my friend again.

Most of the time I eat less than 1000 calories a day.  If i hit the brick wall and don't lose wt for 5 or more days, i add an add'l 200 calories and eat different foods and that usually shakes it.   I am a creature of habit and usually have a protein shake for breakfast, cottage cheese and fruit for lunch and whatever for dinner.   I think my body revolts and wants a change and so far that seems to work.   Never thought i had to eat more to lose wt but think my body needs something to shake it up...lol.

Good luck

Maybe I do need to change it up a bit. I am very habitual. From what I read I have been lucky not to stall before now,  It just does not feel lucky. Thanks

Oh Myrtis, can I ever relate!  I have been on a stall I think since month 8!!!  I have lost VERY little since February!  And I fear so much that this is the end of the road for me.  It likely will be unless I do something to shake it up.  I generally eat very low carb, but find that occasionally I have to toss in some healthy carbs to get the fires burning hotter again.  I was exercising regularly for a while and that definitely helped, but then my foot started acting up (I have tendonitis in my right foot) and I also got hot and lazy.  But I know I can conquer these last 20 lbs and that I would never have gotten this far nor would I have stayed here if it hadn't been for this surgery!

Just keep on keeping on, Myrt, and don't lose hope!  You are doing great!  (have you gotten up on that horse yet???)

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I  have heard the last 20 are the hardest to get off. I surely hope I can get it moving again. Maybe I need astick of dynomite!
Thanks
Myrtis
