Stall

I know that it is frustrating to hit the wall and just stop losing, especially after a long period of continued weight loss.  Your body is trying to catch up.  I bet if you were take some measurements or try on some different clothes, you will find that things have been moving around and getting smaller.  The scale is not the only indication we have of losing weight.  Do not be discouraged.  What you are doing is working and you will see results if you stay consistent.  We have all felt this way when we hit a stall but staying the course is the best approach.  Here are some suggestions:

1.  Drink your water.  This helps flush your system and will help your efforts.

2.  Change up your exercise routine.  Our bodies are very clever and once they figure out how they can hold on to body fat, they will.  Your body thinks it may be starving so it is holding on to reserves.  Change things up - do some cardio or better yet, do some resistance training.  Muscle is denser than fat and building muscle helps your body be more aerobic which burns calories more efficiently even when you are not exercising.

3.  Stay focused.  Go to a support group meeting.   You may be surprised that you are not alone!

By the way, you are officially not in a plateau until there is no change in weight for 6 weeks so you really are not on a plateau at all!  Keep up the great work.

Thank you for all your suggestions and the up lift. I am glade you and the rest are aware and have experience the stalls. Maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel. I sure was enjoying loosing weight at a rapid pace though. But as long as the rest will eventually go away I will be happy at the slow pace also.
Thanks again
