I RODE A BICYCLE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ABOUT 25 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!    WOO HOO!!!!!

My son was out riding his bike early this evening and I made the comment "Wonder if I can still ride a bike?"   Well, he started laughing and said, "You can't ride a bike Mom."  So I told him to let me try and guess what ~~~~  I actually rode it!!!  It was awesome!!!!!  I hadn't rode a bike since I was a kid and wasn't really sure that I could do it but I did!!!!  I felt great just knowing that without the extra 134 lbs I was carrying around a year ago, I can actually do things like that again!!!  I know it's silly but I really think this is my most favorite WOW moment to date!!!  I think I just might go out and get me a bike of my own now!!!    Thanks for letting me share!

Hugs,
Donna

Donna - Wow!  That is great - and if you get your own then you will have another exercise option and come up with trips with your son.
What a Win-Win situation...

Congratulations!

Thanks for your kind words Shelia!  You know, I really really really hate exercising and have been wracking my pea sized brain for an idea about how to incorporate some fun activity into my daily schedule that would be considered exercise and it never even dawned on me that this would be perfect!!!  Duh!!!!!  (I'll be alright one day!!)  And the fact that it's something that me and my son can do together makes it even more perfect!!  I'm super excited!!!

Donna,

Good for you!  I am 54 and just starting my WLS journey and I hate to think what I look like from behind on my bicycle--I weigh 280!!  But I have foot problems and can't walk so I look for other types of exercise, including swimming and dancing, too.

You get yourself a nice bicycle!  Remember your helmet and bring water to drink when you ride,

Thanks for the advice Nancy!!  I will have to remember to get a helmet and a water bottle holder!!  I'm not much of a swimmer and while I love to dance, I'm not real good at it and I can't get my sweetie to dance with me so I guess that's out of the question!  I too suffered for years with foot problems ~ I've had surgery on both feet for bone spurs and plantar fasciattis (my spelling is wrong on this I'm sure!).  I currently am having issues with my right foot having another nasty bone spur but this time its on the back of my heel instead of on the bottom like the last time.  So I can definitely sympathize with you regarding these issues!

Good luck on your WLS journey!!!!

Now that my friend is a WOW moment. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the look on my sons faces when I show them up - I've got a mean hook shot and their jaws about hit the concrete everytime I do it. Love it .. Love it... love it
