I feel great, but...
my surgeon said I wouldn't have an appetite for about 6 months. Well I am officially very hungry...It's not head hunger when I used to just eat because there was nothing else to do. It's literally hunger pains in my stomach and my stomach is growling constantly. It's so lound it woke me and my son up several times last night.
Did anyone else experience this? Also, I have no problems getting water down. I don't gulp, but I don't really need to sip either. It's like I never had the surgery or something. Will this change once I start eating solid foods?

Although I didn't have RNY or FobiPouch surgery, I had a similar post-op experience as you. I was really hungry the day after my surgery. I did have to sip my fluids, though. All I can say is that I know how miserable it is to be hungry on a liquid diet. Hang in there!

Got a lap band in 2008. Tried hard, but didn't lose much weight & developed swallowing problems. Fought my insurance company for almost a year & finally had a band to DS revision on 5/11/12. Have now lost 125 pounds. Yay!
Hi Michele! Glad you are doing well!
I just started getting "growly" the past couple of days. I think it's b/c I've felt nauseous and haven't really wanted to eat, so tummy got empty....
As for the water, I'm with you on that....I even asked my surgeon if he actually DID anything in there, b/c I drink water and fluids with no problems at all....I mean, I try not to gulp, but not drinking painfully slow, either....I guess I'd feel it if I was going too fast, right? I hope so! And I hope you get over the rumblies, dearie....(((HUGS))) and speedy recovery wishes!

I had the RNY and didn't really feel any hunger except head hunger. Since they bump you stomach with air, i wonder if you still have air in you causing the growling. When you do start solids, you will notice you fill up very fast. My first food was a scrambled egg and i couldn't eat buy 1/2 of it.
Good luck!

Same thing happened to me when I got home... yes it will be better once you can get some solids... I was also starving and broke down and ate some pudding.. it felt good to have something in my mouth... Im not telling you to do that.. just sharing my experience cause I was going nutzo being so hungry and the broth and protein shakes were not cutting it for me. Best of luck to you hang in there!
