Thanks Shauna.  Dr. Pender did not give me a choice.  He placed me on the 2 week pre op diet that Optifast has and then the 2 week Optisource diet afterwards.  Jami, had told me that the optisource was was than the preop diet and she sure was right!  It is horrible!  I'm trying to drink it but its nasty for sure..

Welcome home and to the Loser's Bench. It's great to share it with you and Iris. Try drinking the protien stuff REALLY ICY COLD. That helps some. I know it's kind of nasty, but in the scheme of things it doesn't last that long and it will be worth every nasty swallow.

All the best,

Barb

Angie,

I'm glad your surgery went well and you'er  home!  I know that optisource is nasty, I drank ensure most of my recovery but that was a long time ago and things have changed.  I also hated using the morphine and the nurses kept telling me to push my pump button, ugh!  I felt much much better after I got home.  Anyway, keep up the great work and welcome to the loosers bench!!!

I haven't had my surgery yet, but from what I understand, the morphine and/or anesthesia can make food taste bad anyway, no matter what surgery you've had. So, it may not be you, it may be the medication. Once this is out of your system, and it may take a while, you may improve. Good luck.
