Surgery Today

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to update you all on my surgery today for the pain I have been having since my RNY surgery in January.  Dr. B. found adhesions attached to my liver that he removed and he unfortuately had to remove my band for the Fobi Pouch.  I am sad but pray that all of this was the culprit.  It will be wonderful to be pain free.

I know you are relieved to finally have an answer. I hope this takes care of all of the pain you were experiencing.

I hope that you will feel much better here real soon. Did you ever ask the doctor about band removal and what he said about that? Now you just have a pouch like a regular RNY I am assuming. Anyhow, so glad that he was able to help you out.

I did have a conversation with Dr. B.  He said that the band is at the top of the stomach almost exactly where my pain was.  He was going to try to leave it if he thought adhesions were causing the pain.  Even though he found adhesions that were attached to my liver he felt since I lost the original Lapband that was body was rejecting this one too.  I guess I am not meant to be banded.

I will have to work harder and smarter to reach goal and keep it off.  I am okay with it.  I just pray this was the solution.

The pain this morning is fierce.  I guess all the medicine from yesterday wore off.  I just took some more pain meds.
