Hey guys!  Hope everyone is doing well.  Sorry I haven't been around for a while.  As most of you probably know, my life has been in what seems like constant turmoil for the past few months.  But things are finally settling down ~~ for good I hope!!   I found a job (FINALLY, THANK GOODNESS!!!!) and I love it!!  I am working for a group of doctors in a nearby town doing insurance claim follow ups.  Not very exciting I suppose but I really like it.  My Mom came in from Arkansas to help out my uncle who had the stroke.  He is now doing better although he still can't work.  Scott and I are getting along great.  The only bad thing that has happened is that my son fell in gym class at school last week and broke his left wrist.  Unfortunately he is left handed so he's struggling a lot with his school work but it was a clean break and should heal up pretty quickly.

Thanks to those of you who sent me PM's.  I know I didn't answer them personally but they meant so much to me.  I was really down on myself and on life in general and to know I was being thought of means a lot.  Welcome to all the newbies.  I am a NC transplant having just moved back to my hometown in VA late last year.  The ladies and gents on this NC board are the greatest and have graciously let me continue to be a part of the group since my move.

My weight loss has really slowed to a crawl but I have to take a lot of the blame for that.  I don't excercise like I should and some days my eating is way out of control.  I only have 11 more pounds to go to make my personal goal and I am determined to get there.  Y'all help keep me motivated by posting all these wonderful wow moments and pics.  They truly are an inspiration.

Donna,

I am just so, so, so glad to *see* you and to read your post!  From someone who has had many bumps in life, I am so happy the clouds are parting and the sun is starting to shine through for you.  It always does, it just doesn't seem like it's going to when life is at it's darkest!

Congratulations on the new job and on your uncle's improvement.  I hope he continues to progress and I hope your son heals quickly!  Hate to hear about his wrist...ouch!

Keep focusing on your goal...you are so close!  I know that ultimately you will reach that prize.  Take good care of yourself!

Hi Donna,

I'm so glad to hear from you and to hear that things finally seem to be falling into place. I understand that having your weight loss slow can be disheartening, but I hope it helps you to know that it is normal. Keep working on making as many decisions to take care of you as you can. Remember that you owe it to yourself to take time for a walk, to choose healthy things to eat and that while you might not always make the 'right' choice, there is always a next time to make a decision that will help you take care of you, because you are important and worthy of being well cared for.

Thanks again for you note. It's so good to hear from you my friend.

Wishing you all the best,

Barb

Donna, it's so great to hear from you!  Congrats on getting the job and take it from a a health care administrator, what you are doing with insurance followup is so vital to the success of a practice.

It's good to hear that your uncle is improving after his stroke.  I know it was an incrediblly stressful time for you and your family.

You are so close to your goal and now that things are settling down a bit, I know you'll get back on track and get to that goal.   I know I fell off the wagon myself this summer when I was having all those complications from my cancer surgery but I'm really trying to get back on track myself and lose my last 5 pounds to get to my goal.  Take care and keep us posted on how things are going!
