Normal feels weird kind of.......

So I haven't had a blood sugar reading over 100 since I came home from the hospital except once at 104 yesterday's fasting one. My sugar is staying at around 85 - 95 all the time and it was 94 this morning. I am deleriously happy to have a normal blood sugar but I also am feeling a bit weird. I feel slightly shaky but maybe that is really from being so close out from my surgery. I am not using any pain meds because I am not really hurting all that much. I am sipping constantly and the first thing I have is 20 grams of protein with my 8 ounces of Unjury Chicken broth. It takes about two hours or so to get it all down. THen I have a 32 ounce water bottle and am working on that. Yesterday I did not fini**** all. I did have maybe a tablespoon of SF jello yesterday and a total of two chicken broths by bedtime. I wonder how long before I get over the shakiness I feel.

I didn't get shaky but for about the first 2 weeks if I turned my head to quickly it felt sorta woozy. I think it's still an after effect from being put under. Congratulations on the blood sugars mine are normal now too. Diabetes was the whole reason that I chose to have surgery so everything else from here on out is just icing on the Weight Loss Cake. I love my RNY!!!!!!!!!!!

Diabetes was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I am so gl;ad that I will not have to worry about it for many years if ever again. The rest is just good benefits on the side.

I am glad your home and doing well Ann.  The shakiness was gone for me after about a week or so out.  You just had major surgery and it is going to take some time to get to feeling like your old self.  Congrats, your on the losing side now.

Hey Ann,

I am so glad your doing so great!  Did your babies get all excited to see you and did they jump on your stomach?  I was wondering about that...

My girls are such mamabears! They want let me have my dogs out in the livingroom with me because they are afraid their little claws will get stuck in a staple. But I did sneak them out for a while and yes they did jump up on me but settled right down and snuggled in my lap for a while until I got caught. Miko did let me have Sweet Pea for a while last night.

Hi Ann,
I am going to call you in a few hours.
From my experince I think the shakiness is lack food and of course having had major surgery.
For about the first week the way I walked arund the house was Lee would stand in front of me and I would hold onto his hands.
He would walk backwards.
I understand the delight you feel about the diabetes.
I am glad you got some snuggle time in with your babies.
Try not to push getting in all your food right now take it slow and it is ok if it takes you two hours to sip broth.

Think the shakiness is either from the anesthesia or weakness after surgery.  For the few weeks following surgery, when i would go out to the mall (to walk and shop) I would get the shakes or a cold sweat.   This to shall pass.  You are doing awesome!
