Normal feels weird kind of.......
Pam,
This is exactly what I need to hear that it will pass. Still I feel much better than I ever expected this soon so I can handle it for now. I have to admit it will be nice to get to eat some solid food when allowed. I don't feel the least bit hungry and sipping takes up so much time. Being able to have a couple of bites of something solid would be nice. Then I could have some time to do other stuff in between.

I noticed it when i was up and about more than 20 or 30 minutes. Just keep track of when you get like that and you may find a pattern. How long til soft foods. I was not hungry for the first 3 or 4 months. I was able to eat soft foods after 10 or 12 days and while i never liked cottage cheese, it became a wonderful staple...lol. It is amazing that after only drinking for almost 4 weeks, anything taste good to your taste buds.
Take care,
Pam
I am not sure. I see my NUT on Monday.

Ann, It's just so good to hear from you...to read your words...to know you are doing well on the other side. I am living vicariously through you, my dear! Take good care of yourself and I hope those shakes will be over with soon. How awesome about your blood sugar! You are doing so good with everything. I'm just tickled to death for you!
When you get yours Shauna I am going to be just as pleased to hear the same good news from you. I tried to do everything I could to be as healthy as I could before going in to diminish any chances of complications. I guess thats the best we can do. I see your posts and you are doing the same things like posting questions and learning everything you can. You are getting your self ready. I started an exercise program and went to it as much as I could (water Aerobics) and tried really hard (not always succeeding) to eat better before. Now I know the rest of the way is not easy but I think I will continue to do well. If Annie can get from where she was to where she is now I can certainly do the fraction as much as she had to do to get where I need to be. I believe we all can.

Ann,
I'm so happy for you. You are doing great. I share your excitement over the lower blood sugar. Mine hasn't gone over 90 in the past week! We have a lot to celebrate!!! WHOOO HOOOO! Your shakiness should soon end and you will begin feeling better every day. Keep sipping and walking!

Its great to have this benefit of our RNY surgeries. If I don't have any other benefits then this is still worth it.

I don't know about all of this being from surgery because I haven't had it yet but wanted to tell you that a few years ago my sugars stayed up around 200-300's and when I was at a norm like 80 or 90 I felt just like I was having an insulin reaction and was told that my body wasn't used to the low numbers. Anyway I wish you well with the weight loss!

I know I am not used to numbers below 100 but I will get used to it. I hope you get the opportunity to cut down or eliminate your need for diabetes meds when you have your surgery too.

Congrats on a successful surgery and such great blood sugar numbers! Just the first on many wow moments that you're about to experience! :)
I was shaky for awhile after surgery. Your body has been through a lot of stress, it's getting a small percentage of the calories that it's used to and your blood sugar is in a new range all on it's own - it makes sense that your system is a little unsure about it all.
Keep on sipping and walking (oh and if you're shaky, make sure you don't walk alone.)
