Psych Consult? Check!

I am happy to report that my psych consult went fabulous today.  If you are looking for someone in the Hickory NC area, I would highly recommend Debra Bolick.  She was just wonderful to talk to and had really great advice. 

One of the things she helped me to realize is, since I am still "skinny in my head" and it is still such a shock to pass a mirror or see a photo of myself and realize I'm NOT skinny anymore...it will be much easier on me when my image in the mirror starts to match the image that is in my head.  Hurray! 

She said she will try to get my recommendation for gastric bypass sent to the clinic over the weekend.  I called the clinic to let one of the gals know how great things went and to be expecting the report.  She said if I don't hear something be Wednesday, give her a call. 

Can't wait to meet with the surgeon soon!!!

Annie,  I thought that was interesting too.  Gives me hope...I have the worst mirror issues now. 

I sent your message from Richard, along with your before and after pictures to one of my best friends yesterday and told her a bit about your story.  Here was her reply to me:  "INCREDIBLE is all I have to say, just incredible!!! She is an inspiration to ALL! That is awesome...Thank you for sharing and please tell Annie to keep up the GREAT work!!! She now has a fan club."  I had to tell her you already have a HUGE fan club! 

Can't wait to be on the bench with you! 

I've had you on my mind all day - so glad things went well today... Now things will be moving fast.

Shelia,  I was so glad to get to catch up with you on the phone yesterday.  Thank you for calling!  Also, thanks for thinking about me today.  I hope things move faster than expected now, though I still have plenty of patience left if it doesn't! 

I think E is feeling some better but he still looks and even sounds awful, poor guy.  I'm here in bed sucking on Halls and waiting for the football game to end so hubby can bring me some juice and Diet Sprite.  Water tastes icky!

I can so relate to the way you say you feel about how you look right now.  When I started this journey I didn't feel like I looked as heavy as I was either.  But now that I am a lot smaller, I feel like I look bigger than I actually am.  How weird is that????  Too bad they can't operate on our brains when they operate on our stomachs!!

Oh no, Donna, don't tell me that!  I'm going to hope I don't do that or perhaps I will look into a lobotomy!  hehehe  Yes...one more step closer.  Now it's just meet with the surgeon, preop day, then surgery!  Yea!

it is odd how you see yourself.
i guess we can all relate. sometimes i dont realize how heavy i am until i see a picture of myself.
i avoid cameras like the plague!!!
