My First Fill

I gotta tell you I was very nervous after reading all the horror stories about fills.  So my blood pressure was up a little and they asked if I was excited.... I said Yeah!!.  LOL

Got in the room and Meredith (PA) said let get everything together and I'll get Dr. Harris. I said ok.
She comes back in with a needle that was every bit of 4 inches long. My DH went pale as a ghost!  I am sure I did not look any better!  (Jason later said he was glad I was a big as I am cause he would have been worried that they were going to hit my spine otherwise! LOL) I was very plesantly surprised to fine that there was not pain what soever!  I did not even fell the needle go in.  He went in where one of the staples had been and I did not feel a thing.  Of course we were not using florascope or x-ray and he did have a little bit of a time finding it. I have to admit that it took 3 tries to get it in the port right.  The only time there was any feeling at all is when he hit a nerve and I said Ouch!  But it really was not bad.

I now have 4 cc's in a 10 cc band.  I had 3 cc's left in at the time surgery and they added 1 cc.  He is conservative with fills which I think is good.  I do feel some restriction now.  Thank goodness as I was getting a bit depressed.  My numbers had gone up 3 lbs and I was struggling to keep it there and not more.

I feell that I am now on the right track again.  And no more fear of a fill!!!  Yeah.

Hi Vera,

I'm sorry that you got 'pinched' when you had your fill, but I'm glad to hear that it went well overall and that you now feel the restriction you need to continue your journey.

Have a great weekend.

Woohoo, Vera!  I am so glad that is over for you and now you can go back in for your other fills without being afraid.  Phew!  Enjoy the help and I'm sure those 3 lbs will be back off before you know it, taking a few of their friends along with them!  {{{Hugs}}} to you!

Vera,

I know what you mean about being a bit nervous - I didn't know what to expect.  But it was easy....

You will be back on the right track now and if, like me, find the band to be great... I really love it and the compliments that I am getting.
