Anyne Drink Diet Carbinated Drinks?
Hi Misty,
I have had a carbinated drinks post op; our program allows them after 6 months. I used to be addicted to coca-cola and while I 'can' have, I haven't enjoyed it all that much and have gotten to a point where I don't really miss it. It doesn't 'hurt' me when I have a carbonated drink, but I can't have much at any one time and I fill up quickly because of the carbonation. I'd check with your dr and if they give you the go ahead, you can give it a try. It bothers some and doesn't bother others.
Good luck,
Barb

As for the claim that it can stretch the pouch out - there is no proof that it will or will not stretch a pouch - I have yet to come across a single study done... some people will reference the 'balloon test' when you fill a balloon with soda but a stomach is not the same as a closed balloon since it has two openings.
I will say that soda is dehydrating, for every glass you should drink an additional glass of water... it should in no way be a substitute for your daily water intake. If its a 'trigger' for you than stay away.
My only 'bad' experience is w/diet my dew, for whatever reason if I drink it I get horrible food cramps. strange stuff.
