Hang in there.  It took me nearly two years to get a date once I started seriously trying to.  I too had thyroid issues.  My level was 21.7 and Duke required it to be down to or below 5.5!  Insurance would not approve the surgery otherwise.  It took me about 10 months to get it down from 21.7 to 5.  Everytime my PCP upped the Synthroid dose, I had to wait 6 weeks to get labs drawn because I was told it took that long to have the med in my system and working.

I feel your frustration.  But I finally decided there must be some cosmic reason for it and I lived with it.  Now I am 28 days post-op!

hang in there and it WILL HAPPEN.  You just have to maintain that steady momentum.  Stuff happens.  I had a LOT of other things go wrong, including running out of money for health insurance premiums mounting bills for all the tests I was forced to have done.

Just get up each morning and keep on going.

Trust me.  Chin up... one foot in front of the other.  Depression will suck you down if you let it.  Get up out of bed and force yourself to do stuff.

hugs,

Oh Sweetie - I'm sorry that things are so up in the air right now. Take a deep breath and let it out. First and foremost they've got to get the thyroid under control - if not and they still did surgery then there's no way you could reap the maximum benefit of this surgery. When you get the pcp office to fax the history again, have them fax it to you as well. That way if the surgeon says they don't have it - wallah - you produce it for them.

I hope that things are better for you tomorrow - this weather is probably not doing anything to help your mood either. Hang in there.

Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.

Hang in there girly!!! Let them at least get the thyroid levels, leveled out!! I had surgery with only having a partial thyroid and being on synthroid! SINCE surgery, my levels have started to get a little high! Thyroid is nothing to really mess with, if you think about it, that little organ, runs a WHOLE lot of stuff in your body!!! It is one of the bossmen of your body...LOL I am a strong believer that everything happens for a reason!! IT IS NOT OVER, DO NOT GIVE UP, this is one of probably many speedbumps that you will endure throughout this journey!! We are all here for you, so talk away :) I will get a Havelock meet up here towards the end of November, your booty better be there!! I have SOOO been there with depression, it's not fun stuff, but just know you are not alone and you have friends now that know EXACTLY what you are going through!!! We are here for you!!

Dont give up!!  I've been active on this board about a year and a half, and have observed 9 out of 10 ppl who either don't get approved the first time or have issues getting the testing done, get approval in the long run. Remember, everything for a reason.  Keep you chin up and your attitude positive and proceed full speed ahead. Don't give up!!!

ps- missed you the other night.

Hugs with running shoes on (lol), Nancy
