? about hair dye

I have very long hair and it's dyed blonde. I have been blonde for about 35 years.
I colored it right before surgery and now my roots are showing, not to mention shedding
like a lhasa apso. Yesterday, while taking my son for his Chik Fila sandwich, I suddenly turned into my hair salon, ran in and begged...........somebody pleaseeeeeeeeee cut five inches off my hair!!
OMG they did! I feel like a new person! After reading this thread, I'm ready to get my roots done.
I'm taking biotin but not really seeing any results. It's only been a couple of months since I started it.
