Pre-Op Diet Tips

Day one and I have learned...heated anything is ohhh so wonderful!

I got the high fiber V-8 juice, thinking it would "stick to my ribs" a bit better.  More carbs, but minus the fiber, it had the same net carbs.  A mug of that heated in the micro is like a lovely cup of tomato soup, minus the sugars...honest!  I think it was Shelia that had told me about that months ago and I'm so glad I remembered it.  I will most likely enjoy this treat from here on...it's just that good.

Realizing how soothing and filling the heated V-8 was, I had my chocolate protein shake heated for dinner and yes!  It knocked my hunger pains out within just moments.  I don't know what it is, but hot definitely has a better affect for me.  It was like drinking a cup of hot cocoa.  Yum!

I've done pretty well today.  Hunger pain**** pretty hard around lunchtime and lingered all afternoon, but I'm doing a lot better this evening.  {Knock on wood.}  I'm just spending WAYYY too much time on the computer to try and occupy myself!

Hang in there Shauna and do whatever it takes to get through the next 10 days and you will be on your way.

Take care,

Pam

Shauna,

Hang in there, it does get easier. I did not think I was going to make it thru my pre-op but after a couple of days it got easier. Good luck!

That's what I keep hearing.  Most say the first couple days are the roughest.  Hopefully that's true because I think I got through today pretty well!  Thanks for your good luck wishes, Jeff.  Are you feeling any better yet???

Got home from Michigan and dad's funeral last night.  Stayed home from work today to regroup and have a mediation tomorrow.  Hate to go back to the office as i know everyone will approach me and i'll blubber like a baby.   It is all part of life but the chitty part.

Thanks for asking,

Pam

Ah, sweetie, if I were your coworker, I'd be blubbering right along with you...noone cries alone in my presence!  I hope your family is all doing okay.  Life indeed has it's chitty parts.

Like you, I found that somehow the heated stuff really did soothe the savage beast a bit. I also found that sugar-free jello w/fruit (read thinly sliced strawberries) and a bit of sf/ff type cool whip was a wonderful treat that kept me from going round the bend when I needed something to 'eat' worked wonders... I don't know if that's allowable on your plan, but it was so low in carbs and really helped a great deal.

Wishing you all the best as forge ahead on this incredible journey you've started.

Remember to take it a moment a time and keep your eye on the prize ... a longer, healthier, and yes, slimmer you.

Hugs my friend,

Barbara

I did buy some SF jello but I'm having a hard time mentally wanting to eat it.  All I can think about is what it's made from!  Today went really well without it, so I'm thankful for that.  I ended up drinking 3 protein shakes (1 soy, 2 whey in soymilk), 2 mugs of V-8, 3 SF popsicles, and 3 HUGE glasses of Crystal Light.  I just need to try to get busy with something tomorrow.  I spent so much time online today trying to keep myself occupied...especially on THE PRIZE!  lol  Hugs back at ya!
