Pre-Op Diet Tips
I got the high fiber V-8 juice, thinking it would "stick to my ribs" a bit better. More carbs, but minus the fiber, it had the same net carbs. A mug of that heated in the micro is like a lovely cup of tomato soup, minus the sugars...honest! I think it was Shelia that had told me about that months ago and I'm so glad I remembered it. I will most likely enjoy this treat from here on...it's just that good.
Realizing how soothing and filling the heated V-8 was, I had my chocolate protein shake heated for dinner and yes! It knocked my hunger pains out within just moments. I don't know what it is, but hot definitely has a better affect for me. It was like drinking a cup of hot cocoa. Yum!
I've done pretty well today. Hunger pain**** pretty hard around lunchtime and lingered all afternoon, but I'm doing a lot better this evening. {Knock on wood.} I'm just spending WAYYY too much time on the computer to try and occupy myself!
Like you, I found that somehow the heated stuff really did soothe the savage beast a bit. I also found that sugar-free jello w/fruit (read thinly sliced strawberries) and a bit of sf/ff type cool whip was a wonderful treat that kept me from going round the bend when I needed something to 'eat' worked wonders... I don't know if that's allowable on your plan, but it was so low in carbs and really helped a great deal.
Wishing you all the best as forge ahead on this incredible journey you've started.
Remember to take it a moment a time and keep your eye on the prize ... a longer, healthier, and yes, slimmer you.
Hugs my friend,
Barbara
