Lets all give an update!!
As of next friday (21st) I will be nine months out from my RNY, I was at 322lbs at surgery & a size 32 I am now a size 18/20 and weigh 244lbs. I was a severe diabetic and had an insuelin resistant strain, took 150mg lantus, 45mgs byetta, 1500mg avandia/metformin blend, blood pressure medication, cholesterol meds and was sick everyday.
I am med free and my A1C level is in the normal range. I consider myself a sucess as I am now healthy. I have no weight goal as I did this to free myself of medication., and just let things happen naturally following my PCP's advice and calorie guide of 1200-1500 calories a day as with a diabetic I cannot do the 500-600 calorie starvation diet .
I was a s lf pay and went to Mexico for my surgery, wish I had done it when I was first diagnosed with Diabettes when I was 40.

Good thread! I am 1 year and almost 2 months out. I have lost 110 lbs. I am 14 lbs under the goal I set for myself. I started at 241 and Im down to 131 lbs. I am not trying to lose anymore weight but Ive lost two more pounds in the last month. I had my Gall Bladder out last month and I am healing fine. This week I had some more pain in a different area so I am going to watch it and see if it gets worse. I can eat anything I want except I do not do good with breads, eggs or pasta. I ate too fast last night and got sick off a Lean Cuisine Pizza... I wanted to throw up sooooooooo bad but was stuck with that nauseating sick feeling and a horrible case of the foamies!!!! I need to start doing some strength training as I am not as strong as when I was a big girl, I dont like feeling weak.

Great thread idea! Thanks!
My highest was 423. Day of surgery was 356. Now, at 18 months out, I am at 237. I've had some weeks when I have chosen not to track and have gotten careless. But each time have chosen to pull myself out of that and regained control. I am really proud and pleased with that, since it tells me that I can live in control or regaining control for the rest of my life. For me, control and choice are huge, and I see this as real personal growth. My next goal is 223, for a 200 lb drop. Then it will be off to onederland!
I have adopted a fold up treadmill and am using it daily. Hurray! (It's funny how I used to be afraid of getting on a treadmill because I would be too heavy for it, and now I can get on any piece of equipment!) Also, I am actually. . .. . drumroll . . .. . . . . running !!!!! on the treadmill -for3 seconds at a time, mind you, but still, running! I never imagined that would happen, or that I would want to!

Guess I best jump in here before it gets buried!
I am pre-op and working on finishing things up. I was hoping to hear from our coordinator today, but knew that she would have about a million people to call back, so probably Monday. I am just needing to make sure my checklist is up to date on her end. I go next week to meet with the psych. and see how my test went (so yes, I am quivering in my skin with fear of this one going bad). The following week I go for my 1 on 1 with the nutrionist. I am also going to schedule my pre-op test if I do pass the psych test. Those things are all I have left, if it all goes ok, then I think they set me up to meet with the surgeon and see about a date!
Now going to go and bite some more nails thinking about next weeks appt.

Ok here are my stats... lol!
I'm 6 years and 2 1/2 months Post Op. The wonderful Dr MacDonald did my RNY and I'd crawl back to him if I had to do it all over again! I've lost 217 lbs since surgery 248 since I started the process... I'm much much healthier and have a lot more energy and a brighter future for sure! Today I went to see Dr Riccardelli for a plastic surgery quote... Needless to say, but it's going to be a while before I can afford to do it. It would be about $8500 for abdominal/Panni and another $8500 ish for a breast agmentation and excess skin removal. OK ya'll (whoever is reading this), Lets have a fund raiser so I can have my surgery... lol!
Have a great weekend!!

Great idea to start this!
My surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov 18th at 7:30 am - so, I'm up first!
I'm finishing up the 2 week liquid diet ... and am remarkably calm ... not stressing and not nervous (which is amazing considering I've NEVER had surgery!).
My scale says I'm down 12-1/2 lbs from pre-surgical appt on Friday, Nov 7th. Whew!!!! and, Yippee!!!!!
