HELP!!! I NEED INFO ON DR VOELLINGER!!!!

I AM IN ATLANTA AND AM PLANNING ON COMING TO CHARLOTTE FOR MY DS SURGERY. DR VOELLINGER IS THE CLOSEST TO ME ON MY INSURANCE. I KEEP GETTING HINTS FROM PEOPLE HE IS NOT A GOOD SURGEON. I CAN'T FIND ANYTHING NEGATIVE ON HIM ON THE MEDICAL REVIEW BOARD. COULD SOMEBODY TELL ME WHAT IS SO BAD ABOUT HIM???

Dr. Voellinger did my RNY bypass march 2005 and did a great job.  I love him!!  I've not had any problems.  At that time there was a couple issues with office staff and my paperwork that was a little irritating but as far as Dr. V, I think he's wonderful.

I did not use him and cannot comment from personal experience.  However, DH has one guy in his office who used Dr. V for lap band and another who is planning on using him.  Both are pleased with Dr. V per se, but both have had issues with the staff.  It seems, if you are willing/able to work around or overlook the staff, you are in great medical hands with Dr. V. 

My best recommendation is to check out all the docs in your insurance and find what "feels" best to you. 
and ask, ask, ask.  We'll all share the info we have with you.

BTW - Dr. Jon Pirrello is opening his own practice in the Matthews area of Charlotte.  (He has been in practice with Dr. Roc Bauman). If you want to, you can send me info on your ins and I can ask him if he will be in there network.
