My wife is a hiking widow this week.. lol
The AT starts over in Georgia at Springer mountain and ends up at Katadin Maine. It is about 2175 miles long. However it is one of the most beautiful places to just do a day trip or overnight it. While I was out I met a guy from Mississippi over on Kephart Prong that was right at Five hundred when he had his RNY and he had been hiking with some friends for several days at the Great Smokey Mountain Nat Park. The AT covers about 80 miles through the GSMP. We are going to just hike a small section but honestly train yourself up and come take a nice hike up there with Lee. If yall like I would not mind a bit being your guide. But you will have to give me some broom riding lessons in return lol.. All I can say for training is include as many hills where you walk and just keep one foot in front of the other one and you should do fine.
Hey Push.....love your pics and it is obvious you love nature and music. I am so glad you shared with us! I have a coworker that walked the entire AT when she was in her 40s and hubby was in his 50s and she said that was the best time of her entire life and an experience that was second to none. Keep up that hiking and all of your wt will drop off in no time.

I can't wait until Spring to get out more as i love working in the yard and just being outside. I saw on the noon news where Hickory even had an ice storm and tons of accidents on bridges. I am glad it didn't get down to Mecklenburg county. I took today off to get a 4 day weekend and have been spending part of the day taking down Christmas decorations. Good luck on your hike..hopefully the weather will clear up tomorrow and you can head out.
Take care,
Pam
