when do you know?
Hi all
well i'm little over ten days post op, still eating liquids until Feb 2nd, oh yippy. So how do you know if your little tummy is full now or not? or do you learn it more when you start to add in the Stage two foods? Right now i just don't know, i do measure my food, but my body doesn't tell me,and neither does my pouch. Just wondering,
Thanks
Annmarie

My best advice is to measure your food. At this point you dont want to feel "full".. you also should not be feeling hungry at all. Just let that tummy rest and those pounds fall away!!! Be mindful about getting your protein in and move around as much as possible..
Congrats on your recent surgery. I know you are excited!!
Thanks you guys for the advice, i'll just keep measuring. I don't go see the Nut until one month post op. I was just concerned that i was getting to much in my little tummy now.
I also want to know, did anyone do fruit smoothies this early out? I'm not sure if i am suppose to or not, but i'm really growing tired of the same old protien shakes. I never thought i was a big sugar person, until now and i crave it constantly. I just wondering if i can add in a Fruit smoothie a day to help curve that craving. The protien shakes is a different kind of sweet, and it makes me want to hurl. so yeah just wondering.

I would not do fruit smoothies yet. They are LOADED with calories and sugar. My doc was very good and gave me a week by week eating guide. Also, if you do that much sugar this soon you will most likely end up hurling over a toilet. Your little tummy is no healed and throwing up or doing something to encourage that will hinder that healing. At 10 days out I was still on a full liquid diet , focusing maninly on protein shakes. Good luck and keep us posted.
Welcome to the learning curve. Measure that food. I still don't have the sensation of stomach hunger or fullness so at 5+ months I still measure everything. As far as the smoothie cravings - it's probably a head game and not an actual craving. Be very wary of your cravings as most, if not all, may be a psychological thing. Stick with your Nut's recommendations as best you can.
Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey girl!!! Sounds like you are doing good!! You will not know when you are full for several months, I think it was about 5 months post op when i started "feeling" full!!! So in the meantime you need to measure!! YOu should be doing about 1/4 cup per meal right now, then move up to 1/2 cup, that is when you will need to check with your nutritionist!
As far as the smoothies, you need to focus on PROTEIN and only protein right now!! The fruit has alot of carbs and sugar, and you are VERY early out to expiriment with those right now!! I guess call your nutritionist if you want a definate answer, because EVERY one of us is different and were told different ways to eat!!! If you have a sugar craving, try LIFESAVER sugar free popsicles!!! They are really good!!
Good Luck :)
